How can I scan my 12X12 layout?

Hi everyone

I have a 8 1/2 X 11 scanner at home and I just got the Adobe photoshop installed on my computer. I've been searching all day long for the way to scan my 12 X 12 layouts and paste both parts together to submit in my gallery. I've just been able to scan my 8X8 layout and I would like to be able to submit my larger layouts.

Hi, I don't have adobe so don't know it. I have an 8.5 x 11 scanner also and using the program called Arcsoft scan-n-stitch I can scan 12x12 lo's real easy. Arcsoft has a free trial of that program so you might want to try it. I do have to take the lid off my scanner (lifts off easily) to lay the 12x12 on it. Good luck.

Arcsoft works great. Definitely recommend trying it out.

i just downloaded the free trial for the arcsoft and OMG it's awesome!

you just scan your page a couple times and hit "stitch" and it automatically merges them together, super easy!

Just take a picture of them and crop in ps to desired measurements.

To avoid light bounce on pictures and other shiny elements: take the pictures from an angle (as opposed to haning directly over your LO)
You can use the "distort" or "perspective" in PS to correct the angle afterwards, without any visible quality loss.

In my opinion much more simple than scan & paste

I too take digital pictures. I have a Kodak camera with Kodak Easyshare software and it allows me to edit the pictures including enhancing the color and cropping. Works great.

I tried to take pictures of mine, but they never come out as good as scanning and using the ArcSoft software. I'm really picky.

I also use Adobe Photoshop. I usually scan my 12x12 page by scanning it in fourths. I start with the right upper corner, then the left upper corner, and then the right lower corner, and left lower corner. When you open up your Photoshop you can search for all of the images for that page. Open all of your scanned images for the page and then go to file and click on create photomerge. Photoshop will then automatically stitch all of the images together. It also helps to scan the page as straight as possible. I hope this helps!

I'm also taking digital pics of my layout and later edit them using Picasa. It's easy and save the trouble of sticthing them if you are using scanner.

I use a free software called AutoStitch. There's a few tricks that I do like turning off the Auto Straighten feature and setting everything to 100% scale. But it works great! It was developed at some college and is regularly upgraded and shared.

Thanks for the ArcSoft suggestions...I just loaded and it's awesome! I now have pics in my gallery and am so excited to know how to load 12x12 pics. Thanks for asking this question and for the answers.

I use autostitch too, after finding it on a blog here. It's wonderful!

Unfortunately I only have an 11" wide scanner so I can't scan mine (I have the feeder type scanner) so i just use my Kodak Easy Share Camera and upload the photos
