"Just tried the Brad Setter out today, for the first time. I really like the way such a basic tool, is so fun to have and use. I was putting together an older picture of my Grandfather and myself when I was about 3 yrs. "I've had this handy tool for several years now and still love and use it all the time. The paper piercer is a nice thickness so that it pierces a decent-sized hole for the prongs of your brads to go through. And the other end makes prying apart the ends of the brads a cinch. I use a thick foam mat underneath my project when piercing the holes (the old Bazzill In-Stitch'z mat(s)). I also love the ergonomic design which fits comfortably in my hand. It also comes with a protective cover for the piercing end. What a novel idea for placing brads. Make your hole with the punch, place the brad in the hole, separate the brad ends with the other end, then just rock the tool and bing your brad is in place.
The punch on one side is so much more user friendly for my Granddaughter than a long punch, and no more brad end pushing up under our fingernails trying to separate them, or bent paper when my Granddaughter tried to place them.
Definitely a very usable and well made product.

I have already recommended this tool to people that have been using brads for a long time. The handle is ingenious!! And who would have ever thought you need a tool to split open a brad. But this tool lays the brad sooo flat. There is an end cap for punch end too. I new to using brads - and this tool makes it a cinch!
This is a great tool, why didn't someone (or I) think of this a long time ago?! It is so easy now to poke a hole for brads and spread them apart, even the tiniest brads. I would highly recommend the Brad Setter. I have one at home and one in my scrapbook bag. GREAT invention!!
As simple as it seems, you won't believe that you didn't have this tool from the moment you ever started using brads. Finally, my fingernails are saved and I can insert brads so much faster. This is truly a necessary tool you need in your stash. And the price is right for my budget. I hope We R Memory Keepers adds more color choices because I want to buy a couple more -- don't be caught with just one if you use brads a lot. I think there's a purple color somewhere out there with my name on it. Buy this tool.
This is an item that I wish I had thought up! What a great idea. I have very short, brittle nails and every time I try to open a brad I end up with it going under my nails, which if you have ever done that HURTS! I have only tried this twice, but I do love it so far. The only slight drawback is that it seems a little too wide to easily slide between the prongs on the brad - I had to give it a little assist. But, this may just be because I am not used to using it yet. Great product for an awesome price:)

I am just trying this out for the first time. I was going to try to use something else to pierce the paper to sew, but that was a flop. So, almost a month ago I ordered and received this tool along with the mat, needles and ruler. It is almost you can't do one without the other. Know what I mean?
A small tiny screwdriver is what I tried first, nope didn't work.
Tried to use a different mat, nope that didn't work.
So I broke down and bought this combo, and I LOVE it. Now, my friends are saying, "You are too busy to be "sewing"!" Ha, I did three yesterday in no time.
It took me a minute to figure out exactly how to do it. Went on Youtube, but that wasn't much help.
So, trial and error, and success!
I have only had this tool for about a week but I have to tell you it is GREAT! I can't tell you how many times I have stuck a brad prong up under my thumb nail trying to separate them. It HURTS darn it! Thank you for this thoughtful invention. I tell everyone about it and let them try it. I will be ordering more as gifts for a 12 hour crop I am throwing in May. THANKS again!!

is it pink as the picture or the mint one?
The piercing tool I received was a light tiel or what you may call a mint color.
