I love this product!
"I actually punched a hole through a CD! With my arthritis, I never thought I could use a tool like this one! I am amazed at what the Crop-o-Dile can cut through! On each side of the handles, they have a 1/8" hole cutter and a 3/8" hole cutter. They have even made it so you can adjust the depth of your hole punch for making all sides even. (I figured that out on a video on YouTube!) Then, setting the eyelets is quite easy, however, I really like the large eyelets versus the smaller simply because it is more comfortable with my fingers! I have used the Crop-o-Dile more recently to make holes in defective CD's so that I can make mini-scrapbooks out of them! Cutting through them was a snap. Some things are better done within the domain of a paper sack so that the pieces don't fly out at you or your eyes, so just be careful! I also used it to add an extra two or three holes for my leather purse. Couldn't have been happier to cinch that bag up! I make the little Post It! noteholders and use it to punch the small eyelets in them to put ribbon through. Beautiful, soft, and gentle on my hands with very little exertion on my part. I had the old crop a dile tool, and I guess what, sometimes I could not figure it out, I had the hole punching part down, but always got confused, this tool is color coded, and numbered so you never have to guess what little square part goes with which little flattening part. Who knew it could be so easy, now I'm loving the tool and working more with it. The other type always intimidated me, but this one is more user friendly.
There's been a lot of buzz about this tool and rightly so. It can do things that the post eyelet setter and hand grip-style setters can't do but I don't think it's the only tool to use for eyelet setting. I've had a difficult time setting decorative eyelets with it. I love my cropadile. It punches through everything. Its amazing how many things that you can use this for for hole punching that isn't scrapbook related. I have punched holes in many things so that I can hang them up. The punches are very strong. I gave it a 4, however because of the limited reach. I wish they would make a long reach cropadile so that you can punch in the middle of a piece of paper. It can set eyelets and brads, which is great. There are two black squares with all the setters and you just spin them around to the setting you would like. Don't press too hard either, or it will just smash whatever you are setting. I use this tool a lot, and would be lost without it.

i actually own three different sizes of those fiskars springy eyelet setters that sound like you are punching into concrete. my sister-in-law just got a cropadile and i'm wildly jealous now that i've gotten a chance to try it out! it's so smooth and so easy to use- the tool does all the work for you. there's no need for muscle, you don't have to squeeze terribly hard. it's perfect for anyone who has a touch of arthritis. the only drawback is that it only works on the outer edges. you can't on the inside middles of pages.

I Love...
The fact that it's available in pink, love the 2 side hole punch options (use em all the time) for LO's, tags and to place brads. What first drew me to this tool was the fact that it is a hand-punch tool, a silent tool, and has the ability to do more than just 1 function!...Call it the Girlfriends Best Friend Gadget! :)
Don't Really Love...
The lack of extended reach (see new Crop-A-Dile II) I also 'don't really love' the bulkiness of this product. I can completely understand why some would have a hard just holding this product. However, with that said, with just a little practice and after only 5 projects or so, you quickly do get use to it, it sorta becomes second nature & you really don't really think about it!...Also, just to be spoiled, I wish that the case would have been included for this product. However, the kit which includes the case, costs more than if bought along.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE my crop-a-dile... it was the best gift i got all year!!!!!!! i have used it several times now and am looking for projects i can do just so i can use my new best friend. it is easy to use and best of all quiet. no more banging of that little hammer! it is very comfortable and punches through anything like butter!
everyone needs one of these. they are not expensive and worth 10 times what you will pay! i would suggest also getting the little box it resides in because it comes with tons of brads in 8 colors. it is a great start to a new technique.

Pros: The Crop-a-dile does stand up to the hype of being able to go through anything. The best part of mine is the fact that it punches holes so cleanly and precisely compared to my other setting tools. Another plus is that you have to use surprisingly little pressure to hole-punch or set eyelets and of course, no noise. Plus I have to admit, when I am able to use it I still get excited. It is a neat tool just to be able to use and its so much quicker and easier than other tools.
Cons: The hole-punch and eyelet setter are only 1 inch deep. If you don’t measure something properly, or are just eyeballing where you would like your eyelet to go, often I find myself millimetres away from being able to use the crop-a-dile and then I am forced to bring out my eyelet setter and hole-puncher instead. One thing I also dislike is sometimes I have to use both hands to use it and since all your work is done in the air and not on a mat, your objects can start moving everywhere causing you to have to stop and place everything again. Plus, maybe it’s just me, but when I tried to set my fancy star eyelets, the crop-a-dile smashed them. I tried two different settings just in case I had the wrong one for the top and it still happened.
Overall I would recommend this tool, but make sure that you buy another eyelet setter first so that you can set eyelets everywhere.

Do any of the Cropadiles have a viewing hole or guide so that you can see where you are punching a hole?

Unfortunately, there is not a viewing hole or guide for the punched hole placement. You will have to eye it.

Can I use the crop a dile on fabric? As well as the corresponding eyelets? Thanks

This is meant to be used on paper. We have not tested it used on material.
