Are these the same thing as the black toner sheets? Can they be used the same way?

No they are not the same as black toner sheets.The completely clear-printable toner sheets allow you to print your own images (such as digital images) or words on the sheets using a laser printer. The laser printer uses toner when it prints, so now whatever has been printed on the clear sheet can be foiled. I hope this helps.

I don't understand the answer to the question below. All printing using a laser printer can be foiled as it uses toner. So does this product work the same way as the black toner pages, ie if you put foil on it and send it through the laminator, the foil sticks to it, thus allowing one to use the negative (from a previous foiling) to foil a pattern on this toner sheet. No printer is thus necessary? Or are they just printable transparencies like you would use in a photocopier and so are not toner sheets at all?

Hello, If you run these clear designer toner sheets through the laminator, nothing will stick to them. However, if you print something on these clear designer toner sheets using a laser printer and then run it through the laminator with your foil, what was printed by the laser printer will be foiled.
