Take your papercrafting to the next level with the easy-to-use and portable White and Gray Sidekick Starter Kit by Sizzix! You'll love the birthday, thank you, heart and flower designs included in this starter kit. This machine is designed for use with low profile dies and will cut a single sheet of lightweight to cardstock paper. The package includes one Sidekick machine that measures 7.5" x 3" x 5" with an opening that measures 2.75" wide. Also included
My old Side Kick fell apart after about 10 years. Although I have a Vagabond, I used the Side Kick often for smaller dies. I bought this one as a replacement. It seems sturdier than my old one. The suction base grips my work surface without slipping. I especially like not having to use the black adapter plates for thin dies. Very happy with this little guy!

Like all Sizzix die cutters, this does a nice job. It works only with small dies (the platform is 4.5" x 2.5"), but the cuts are clean and crisp. The bundle includes a few dies and stamps as well as some materials to get you started.
However, I've given it three stars out of four because contrary to the product description, the suction feature does not work. I've tried a variety of surfaces and it slides all over the place.

This is the third small die cut machine I've owned and the first that actually stays put! I find it attaches to glass very well (not quite so well to some other surfaces) and I can cut as many dies as I want and it does not loosen from the glass. It cuts very cleanly and I really like that it has plates instead of plastic holders. Usual Tim Holtz quality!
I love this thing. I use it ALL the time. I've always bought the proper plates and I never put anything too big thru it. Tonight I was using it and the hand (plastic) literally SHREDDED off the steel piece that turned. I now have a sentiment die stuck in the machine. I'm so sad. I guess $15 a year was worth it, I just thought it'd last longer than 3 years.

Even though I already own a Vagabond I ordered this Sidekick because I thought it was cute and it might come in handy. When it arrived and I unpacked it I thought it might be little more then a toy. Not so! This little thing is a workhorse! I've been using it to cut out all the little tiny pieces needed for the snow globe Christmas cards I'm making for my six grandkids. I've also used it to cut out many of my other small dies. This little thing cuts like a champ. I love it!!!!!
How did I live without this? It is so small, lightweight, and handy to leave on my work table. I love it for cutting with small dies, especially sentiments. It only takes seconds. It will never replace my large die cutting machine which is needed for larger dies, but on the other hand, nothing will replace this either. I also like that it came in a package with accessories. Highly recommend. I also appreciate the prompt shipping from Scrapbook.com

I have had a Tim Holtz Vagabond for about 8 years. Really like it. I just received my new Sidekick and I LOVE it!!! I have used it more in this last week than I used the Vagabond in three months. So easy to just suction to the desktop and whirl a die through. Of course the only thing 'wrong' with it is you can't use a big die in it. But that's OK. PS: I really love my Sidekick!

This is such a great companion to the bigger machines! It's lightweight, travels well to crops and arty gatherings and matches the bigshot, plus and emboss machines. I had the original way back in the day and was so excited to see the updated version and to be able to get the accessories again. Mine sits right on my worktable so I can grab it for a quick use.
This is a great tool for the paper crafter. It's a great size to cut small dies and embossing folders. Along with larger dies and embossing folders, I die-cut many smaller images and words, this is perfect for this. I keep it on my craft table for quick use. I'm thinking about getting another one to put in my to go crafting bag.
I use my Big Shot a lot - I just love dies. I tend to avoid using the smaller dies as I have to get up to walk across the room to use the Big Shot (the height of laziness?). I've put the Sidekick right in front of me on my work table and I've used it countless times since it arrived a few days ago. Great little tool. The suction bottom works perfectly so no need to exert a lot of pressure to hold down the machine.
