Use these inks with stencils, stamps and direct to surface, they can even be blended using the Tim Holtz blending tool (sold separately.) Distress Oxide Ink Pads are a water-reactive dye and pigment ink fusion that creates an oxidized effect when sprayed with water. I had been holding back on purchasing these as I have a full collection of distress inks already... what did convince me to look more closely at the oxides were the testimonies that they were also being used for regular stamping.... so.... I broke down and bought "one" ink pad .... I was hooked!! They are amazing for stamping and lots of fun to play with... the colours "layer "beautifully... I am loving them!!
These inks are so much fun! I've always loved the distress inks and use them all the time. These distress oxide inks add another dimension to stamping and can be used alone, with each other, with the regular distress inks - fantastic possibilities! I can't wait to get the reinkers too! I'm still exploring all the different ways I can use these new ink pads!
Just when I thought that I knew everything about ink and stamping, Tim Holtz introduces his Distress Oxide ink pads and open up a whole new take on stamping and inking. I love that you can layer the ink and keep each color distinct. I have been experimenting and having a great time!

I love, love, love them. I altered a plastic clock for my living room. I turned out beautiful. I had the best time doing the alterations to the clock. Such vivid colors, they are great rich product. Just adds that perfect umph to your project. Great job Tim Holtz and Ranger!

These distress oxide inks are amazing to work with. Makes even an amateur look like they know what they're doing. Hope to get the other set soon!
I absolutely love working with the Distress Ink Oxides! There are so many techniques that you can use them for. Can't wait to get my hands on the Summer 2017 set!

Are these the "mini" stamp pads?

No, they are not the mini stamp pads. They are a new release and contain both a dye and pigment. There are plenty of you tube videos demonstrating how to use them. You get a different effect than the standard distress inks. Jennifer McGuire has a really in depth video on how to use them. Check out the videos and see if they are something you would like.
