When this first came out I felt that I didn’t need it. I wanted one of Lisa’s stencils that had like 11 layers so I bought this tool because I need all the help I can get. So glad I did. There were no worries about if they were aligned correctly. I haven’t used the die on any of my other stencils so that I can use the pegs but I will do that eventually
This is a wonderful tool and I am using it with success. The 2-sided mat is great! The stencil pegs are really special and make stenciling so easy. BUT.... regrettably, there is a manufacturing / design flaw on the score board side because the groove lines / measurements are off by at least 1/16" of an inch. Using the printed tick marks as a guide, I was having trouble getting the edges of my folded cards to align and really thought it was me making a mistake. For a long time I've wanted a smaller scoreboard to replace my Martha Stewart, 12"x12" scoreboard, but I couldn't justify the cost of buying something I already have, and that works perfectly every time. (It's just so much larger than generally needed for card making.) Using a ruler and then Martha's guides to check against Lisa Horton's guides, it became obvious that my user error wasn't the case. So, I still have to rely on good old Martha to score a 5.5" x 8.5" sheet in order to create an exact half-fold at 4-1/4". On the other hand, the die that came with this tool bundle is BRILLIANT, and it was the deciding factor for me in making the purchase. Overall, I would recommend this tool set to anyone providing they already have a perfect scoring board.
I purchased this for the stencils mainly which I do Love that and I love the stencil tool to make the peg holes line up little tricky to do but I finally figured out how to do that The thing that I hate about this is the scoring side there's no ruler on the scoring side so you have to count everything now there's a ruler on the stenciling side which I don't need at all I need it on the other side but I guess that's just the way it goes so to me it's not a $50 item also the mat for doing stencils doesn't stay in place so it slides and I don't like that at all it should have sticky content to it it's just a rubber mat or silicone matte it's not one with a sticky surface so it's not worth $50 maybe $30 but not $50
I love the peg system for layering stencils. As of yet I haven't tried to add the holes to any of my existing stencils, but it's on my list!
This works great the paper doesn't move the stencils are easy to use and clean and the embellished folders make it pop off the page.
Very disappointed that the lines for scoring to don’t match with ruler measurements properly. An 8 1/2 paper measure slightly shorter than 8 1/2. When try to score in half it is off approximately 1/8 inch. Extremely disappointed with scrapbook.com return policy. How would I have guessed before opening and using that measurements are off.
I agree that the scoreboard is a little strange but I have watched Lisa demo it and each line is 1/8" and she suggests marking with a permanent marker by going down the line with black. It has something to do with the way they do things in the UK. This product was made specifically for those of us in the USA that love her stencils. She is not allowed to sell the original Ulti-mate in the USA because it conflicts with the MISTI patent. It is a stamping platform but also has the pegs for her stencils. Her peg system is amazing for her stencils as the holes sit on the pegs and hold them in place. Her stencils have numerous pieces so you get a very detailed finished product. This product also included the die to be able to convert many other companies stencils to use in her system.
I usually don't write a bad review and this is the first on Scrapbook.com. I am not happy with my purchase. For the amount of money I paid (on sale), I feel the quality is poor. I have not even used the front of it with the stencil portion. I tried out the score board. The grooves for scoring are not lined up with the ruler across the top so you have to move the cardstock one way or the other. Plus, the grooves don't go up the side to the ruler so you can't see where to start scoring. You have to move the paper down and then run the risk of scoring crooked. I haven't figured out the secret, as yet. Also, when I do score with the tool provided, the score is not straight! The groves look straight, but the score line is wiggly. I changed it to the larger ball without any luck. When I fold my card, it's always off one way or the other. I have not used the stenciling part as I am working on another project that doesn't require it. I hope it earns the three stars I gave this.
I have never needed to return something to Scrapbook.com, but was thinking of returning this so I was surprised when I read the return policy. It seems that because I opened it and tried it, it cannot be returned. How in the world would I know if it was sub-par unless I opened it and tried it?! I was hoping by having the scoreboard on the same tool, I could eliminate the need for another scoreboard, however that is not the case.
I will update this or write another review if the stencil portion proves just as useless.
This tool is great for lining up layered stencils. You can also die cut holes (included die) for other stencils too! Score board side works but measurements don’t line up correctly. I didn’t buy it for that.

I believe the die is only available when you buy the multi tool platform. It has biilt in storage for the die and comes with a scoring tool. The die requires you have or purchase separately a cutting die machine.
