I use calligraphy pens, for many things, and these are great. I usually use the fine tip, but it's very handy having the broader tip already built in and i have found this brand to be very long-lasting. Often, when the arthritis, in my fingers, prevents my writing with an ordinary pen, I can easily write with one of these.
These pigment markers are the best! Nice even flow of ink and they last a long time!
My attractive handwriting all but disappeared some years back when I developed chronic health conditions that cause my hands to shake, and now I must take prescription drugs that yep, cause my hands to shake even more! However, I've fallen in love with this magical calligraphy marker, and now use it for absolutely everything - writing out grocery lists, checks, to-do lists, and so forth.
I have exactly zero calligraphy training; I simply write with this marker as I would with any pen or pencil, but the results are just so very lovely! I actually get compliments on my handwriting; a friend recently deposited a check I'd written, and the bank teller was apparently awed by the beauty of my handwriting and specifically commented on it!
Just FYI, it is this marker's 2mm tip that perfectly suits my purposes, so I use it exclusively. The 5mm tip is completely worthless to me, as I simply find it too wide. However, if you're interested in creating large page titles or the like, the 5mm tip will likely do a lovely job for you.
One last thing. I've tried numerous brands of calligraphy markers over the years, some very high end (as evidenced by their price tags!), but it’s the inexpensive Zig Memory System calligraphy markers that consistently come out on top. Also, it seems that many of the large craft store chains only stock Marvy Uchida's DecoColor calligraphy markers. There is zero comparison between the two brands - in fact, the quality of the DecoColor markers was so abysmal that I returned them for a refund. Zig is DEFINITELY the way to go! Hope this helps!
