My husband is a travel nurse and I'm now am able to travel with him. I order this to take with me on the road when we travel so I can craft while he is at work. I have a bigger die cut machine that is to big to travel with, the Mini Gemini Machine is just the right size to travel with.
This die cutting machine may be small, but it’s mighty! I love how smoothly it takes the dies through. It’s a great machine for the price.
It's compact, cuts dies out well, easy to use
this machine is a must. small dies have been alot easier to cut. one pass and done. I love the ease of use and the compact size. Easier to take to family craft days.
I think this is a great little unit. I'm to do my granddaughters place cards for her wedding. It is a lot easier taking this machine with me instead of a big one. I'm very happy with it.
Love having this to use for my smaller dies. Convenient and easy to use. Takes up very little space and appreciate that it has the suction feet to help keep it stay put on my table.
I've been using this machine for almost a month and while using it tonight, the purple plastic piece around the opening popped out. Perhaps the dies are too thick. I don't recall seeing a notice of what kind of dies works in this machine. I may have missed it. Regardless of that, I need a machine that can handle the thicker dies and I'm not sure this machine can. So, I cannot recommend this machine at this time. In my search for the return policy, I found out that I cannot return it back to Scrapbook.com because I used it. The policy mentions the customer being unhappy with the item, but how can you be unhappy if you cannot take it out of the box and use it. In fact, the box has to be unopened for the item to be returned. I don't understand that. How can you find out if you like it or not from just looking at the box?
I had high hopes for the small machine, however, I had to purchase the folders again and again because they bend and then the card stock bends. I threw mine away after 6 months.

Does machine include two plates for cutting?

Hi Judy, this mini machine comes equipped with a Plastic Shim and a Plastic Folder, so you can get crafting right away. It does not have or need plates other than what is included. Hope this helps!

I want something that is small to take to crops/retreats. However, I don�t want something that will bend or damage my dies. Will this happen with this machine? I�ve had some other machines that are very similar to this and when the folders are new, it works great. I like to get my money�s worth out of my purchases and with those machines once the folders are used/warped it would start to do the same to my dies. Thankfully none were so bad that I couldn�t get them back to flat again, but regardless, I don�t want to take chances. They�re not cheap. Is this machine & their folders the same or do they keep their shape?

The opening is 3 inches wide. The plate is 6 inches long. So bigger dies will not fit.

The machine comes with all that is needed: a plastic shim and a plastic folder. I ordered extra folders but they are just to have more ready to run through right away.

Hello. With a 3 inch wide opening and a slim plastic folder as the "plates" for this machine, it's not designed to be used for embossing folders.

Is there a Magic Mat that fits the Gemini Mini? If not is there one in the works? If not, can I cut a bigger Magic Mat and use it?

Hello. No, the Magic Mat is too thick. You can just use the plastic folders in this machine.

Hello, the life span of the folder depends on many factors, like what is being cut and how often they are being used. The folders are considered consumable parts and will need to be replaced with time, warping and the dies cutting into the folders is normal wear and tear.
