When I first saw this tool I fought myself against purchasing since I have 2 other stamp tools. After watching a few videos I decided I would get it. I’m happy I did because this tool allows me to use layered stamps much easier. If you’re on the fence watch a few videos to decide if it’s right for you. The other thing I like is that it makes using layering stencils easy. Make sure to read and follow set up instructions for best use.
I like this new stamping tool from Altenew for creating patterned backgrounds or wreaths of stamped image backgrounds. It is not my everyday stamping tool but if you like to be more creative, this one may be useful for you, especially for using those little images that usually come in a stamp set and you don't use them at all!
It has a learning curve to do what you want sometimes. It seems lightweight and made me think it was cheaply made when I took it out of the box but I found it does the job well. The lightweight doesn’t effect it’s purpose.
Love this stamping platform. I added Pops of color around the plate with a different color at the top so that I know where I am when turning the plate. It is also important to fit the plate in at the bottom to ensure consistent alignment. Is is very easy to use and works really well. I have recommended to several others and will continue to do so. The sticky make is so good and exceeded my expectations. Please give this product a try. It is a game change - great images every time!
I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and it's doing just what I wanted. It's light, not too big and not too small. I have a small desk space which is in between cabinets so I like that I can lift plate off and place it to the side if necessary. My other one with the door type is difficult to work with if I have a lot on my desk space. I love how easy it is to place my cardstock anywhere on the sticky mat. I stuck the clear grid to the stage with removable tape so I can see it through the sticky mat for a guide. All in all would definitely recommend!
Wow...a heck of a great stamping tool along with the Misti. The mat underneath holds everything in place and this tool makes all stamping super easy! Thnx Scrapbook for having on sale!! You won't be disappointed! I thought it was bigger from videos so after I received it, it was perfect size.
I love my misti and my Tim Holtz platform. This was a third platform to use when using multiple stamps on a project. Now I can set up all 3 and just keep stamping.
I sat on the fence for a long time telling myself I did not need this, after all I had 2 Misti's; 1 Tim Holtz; 1 Stamparatus and I know I have another brand. Anyway, I obviously I wasn't happy with what I had and was obviously looking for something that would get me excited and the Stampwheel turned out to be the tool I was looking for and did not know it. I was so excited, I told my husband, "I finally found the best tool ever and I have gotten so much use out of it and I can't stop using it." My only regret was I didn't buy it sooner. I especially love it for the layering stamp sets and how I can rotate it and put a lot of thngs on it and make cards a lot faster. Thank you Altenew, you did an awesome job!!
I enjoy this tool. While it is not my everyday stamping platform, it is my go to for wreath building, layering stamps, and turnabout stamps. Wreaths can be made any size you want without having a special template. Layering stamps can be placed in each corner and easily rotated. You can use rubber cling stamps by removing the sticky mat. As suggested in some YouTube videos, a Cricut mat can be cut down to the size of the base and used for rubber stamps. Some tweaks that could be made include gridlines on the existing sticky mat, a thinner mat with gridlines for rubber stamping, and a flip plate with straight gridlines that are easier to see. Even with the few changes that could be added, I am still very happy that I invested in this tool. It is a great addition to my craft room.
I have had 2 versions of another brand. The hinge was always strained with rubber foam mount stamps. When my oldest one died last week, I took a chance on the Altenew positioned. I love it. Take out the grip mat for foam mount stamps use the grip mat for photopolymer stamps. I like the stability of the platform cover for inking, then flip it over to stamp.
I bought the original size because I usually make A2 cards, so don’t need the real estate of the larger one. Because it is not magnetic, stamping a single layer card can be problematic. You can’t ensure that the folded card will remain closed maybe use washi tape to close the card. I also found that with envelopes.
My only complaint (and this is likely due to being a new user) is that it may stamp before you’re ready as you seat the cover into the mechanism. I suspect that as I get more practiced that it will happen less. TBH in a run of 12 cards, I only had a double stamp one time due to lid positioning, and it was on an envelope.
A future tweak may be to place a grid in the bottom for positioning foam mount stamps. Not essential but maybe helpful.
The polymer grip pad was perfect for my photopolymer stamps, and I bought the positioning templates. I found that very helpful in stamping multiple toppers and envelopes.
The built in rotational feature is nice, and I look forward to playing with that. The radial markings on the lid should be revised to match the larger Stampwheel 2.
Overall, I like it, and an happy with its performance. It stamps beautifully with less pressure than my other devices.
