Hi There! This is my ode to the floating candles of the great hall in Hogwarts. They are a twist on a pocket and tag.
First, I cut and scored a normal pocket. Before gluing it together I traced around a large roll of tape to get the curved look of a candle. Cut on the line, inked, then glued the flaps to close the pocket.
To create the insert I folded a piece of paper to just under the width of the pocket, inked the edges and attached a flame I free form cut from a scrap of paper.
The candle pockets couldnt be simpler to make and I love how much journal space they add to my Harry Potter junk journal.
On the left page I glued the pockets in place, but on the right hand page I created a tuck, so I can slide the Hogwarts journal card behind the candle.
These are a bit unusual for pockets, but fit the theme of my Harry Potter junk journal perfectly.
