at what point do you hit it with a lint roller? I just washed some old ones - one came back - but the other did not. Do you ever hit them with respositionable spray adhesive?
A lot of the stickiness is "masked" by paper threads and lint. I use dish soap and a scrub brush with really hot water. If it's still not very sticky, I either spray it with repositionable adhesive or coat it with zig glue from a very wide tip pen. LocTite brand spray needs multiple coats, but I've heard that Krylon brand works well. I've also used goo off to remove extra adhesive before re-coating the glue. Sometimes I think the zig is too sticky. HTH. PM me if you have any other questions. I still have my first mat, and I got my cricut 3 yrs ago. And yes, it does void your warranty if you put other adhesives on your mat. I've heard to be careful not to get the edges sticky since it will gum up the rollers.
I don't think washing your mat voids the warranty.....I could be wrong. But I think they mean if you put other adhesive on it to make it sticky again will void the warranty.
I was hesitant, but I had GREAT luck last weekend just wiping it off with a baby wipe. Cheap, quick, and easy-peasy!
Good question. I made the giant leap and ASSUMED that was the question.
I don't even own a Cricut, but I have also heard that doing any of these things voids the warranty. Just some food for thought.
I have also heard of the warranty thing, but HOW would Provocraft know if you washed a mat? I don't understand that.
If you send it in for a repair, hoping that the warranty would cover it, and they discover damage/problems consistant with a restickied mat gumming up parts.
The baby wipes never worked for me. I tried the spray adhesive-used to get it all over my fingers and rug. I now use the Zig 2 way Jumbo tip glue stick. Works GREAT! I have used the same mat for like 2 years until it cracked. You have to let it dry clear-when it goes on blue its permanent. The stickiness lasts a long time between applications too.

For those of you worried about voiding your waranty. I looked on the website and the electrical part of the Cricut is covered for 1 year. Cartridges are covered for 90 days. I have had my Cricut for 2 years. My waranty ran out a year ago. So if you you have had your Cricut over a year, Spray on!
Yeah, mine ran out a couple years ago too....but that has never stopped me. I've also used SCAL for a couple years, which supposedly voids the warranty too. And honestly, the gummiest parts of my cricut were caused by setting the mats on top of eachother without the acrylic between them. The bottom mat gets goo onto the bottom of the top mat. Though, this has caused no problems yet, thank God!
