what color is hot glue supposed to dry to?

mine is yellow?? is that normal? tia

Probably depends on the type of stick. Most of mine are clear (or basically clear).

I have colored hot glue sticks (red and blue).

usually clear, I think when it dries yellow it just means the stick is older or has been exposed to a lot of sunlight

Mine dry clear. I would think that would be the way they should unless they are colored to begin with.

mine dry to a whitish, clearish,,,,,occasionally they will dry yellow, depending on the stick,,,,

which is one of the reasons I use them sparingly if at all, usually only on altered projects as opposed to scrapping,,,,,,,,they're not acid free either,,,,,

someone would make a fortune if they could come up with an acid free clear drying hot glue!

I don't use it on my scrappy stuff, but I looked at some old hot glue on some other items and it looked yellowish.

when the glue stick has been out and about for a long time (as in the stick is taking too long to sell) it loses the white color and begins to get yellow when it dries. it's supposed to dry clear, but after some time (months) it gets a yellow tinge to it...
