PHOTO PRINTERS

Help! I'm looking for recommendations for photo printers (dedicated photo printers that don't need to be connected to a pc). I'm looking for one that's reasonably priced, good print quality and speedy printing. I don't need it for any professional use, just scrapbooking. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have an HP Photosmart C6280. You can use it with a computer or without...it scans...it prints from memory cards...I got it for $169.99 at Best Buy. (Didn't get the Geek Squad warranty, will get warranty through HP.)

I love my Epson picturemate dash...it is super handy and does b/w, sephia, and color pic sizes 4x6 and smaller. It has great options and is pretty small.

Thanks. I've been looking at that one online. Does it have any special options for putting borders around photos, like to make Christmas cards? I had not been able to find that out with the info. online.

I too also have the epson picture mate but i also have the epson cx6000 printer/scanner too. (can you tell what i like?) I really like how they both pront pictures and even though epson makes paper for larger printers i have found going to national camera exchange and getting some of their premium paper works much better on my epson cx6000.

I know on my picture mate( i have an older model) that it will print borderless prints and bordered prints ( just a white border around the picture), along with sepia, b&w options.

I guess it does come down to what you are looking for and how much you would like to spend or not spend.

How do you guys find the ink lasts? That's what I find is the worst... you print 4 or 5 pics and your ink is out!

I have a picture mate as well and i love it it does have some Disney borders in it as well as borderless!! This printer totaly rocks!!!!

I love my Epson picturemate. It takes a memory card, or I've plugged in a USB-jump-drive into the back and that works too. You buy the paper and ink cartridge together...and you get tons of paper in the pack. The ink lasts thru the whole pack of paper...sometimes you can stretch it to last a little extra than that even. It's great...it adds Disney borders...can print a variety of sizes...fixes red eye and other editing functions...and the best part about it is the pics come out DRY! I can almost handle them right away. The only time I give them a bit to dry even more is if I'm going to trim them (I have the trimmer where the plastic guide comes right down on the photo or paper). Otherwise, I'm good to go with working with them fresh outta the press. Can you tell I'm in love with my printer paper?

Oh, and on a side note...it prints a million times better than that instant print Kodak machine at Walmart.

I love my Epson Picture Mate too. It's been great. Personally, I won't ever go back to taking somewhere to get developed when it's so convenient to do it at my convenience in my home home.

I have an HP Photo printer. It has slots for memory cards and a screen to review the pictures. Mine is connected to a computer but it doesn't have to be. I've had it for about five years and print lots of pictures and probably change the cartridges (3 of them) two or three times a year.

With the picture mate.. depending on what you print..color photos they say you can print up to 60+ i beleive. and am pretty sure about. i printed a hole pack that comes with the ink. and there are about 100 sheets before i had to change the ink on it.


and yes.. having a picture mate printer(or any kind of photo printer) is SO worth the money to begin with. you never have to worry about pay for a print that you would never use.
