Blade Runner

Hi All! Quick question....Has anyone else purchased a Blade Runner by EK Success? I did, but I really can not get the hang of it...Anyone else having trouble or if not tell me how you use it??

I don't have it but I used a friends and I didn't like it. I have heard from a number of people that it is very difficult to use and they don't like it either. I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear but that's about all I have to offer. If you can't return it, my suggestion is to just keep trying and practicing until you get better results with it.

I consider myself a pretty stubborn lady, and a very crafty person as well. I bought this thing because I seem to need to buy anything scrapping related. For the life of me, I couldn't get this tool to cooperate. The best I have been able to do is use the wavy ruler, and cut vellum in different colors to create water. I could have done the same thing with the scissors, and not nicked up the ruler's edge. It is not my favorite tool. Nancy

I use the blade runner but not very often. It works best with thicker templates like the EK Success ABC tracers and Tracerkins. I found it much easier to use if I stood up and looked straight down the see thru shaft of the blade runner. Another thing is to make sure the template is between the blade and the guide, the template will rest right on top of the blade. Sometimes you may have to lift the template a little. I also use masking tape to hold down my paper so that it stays stationary. Also, it will only work well with a glass mat, because the blade needs to glide over the mat.

I have one, too, and it has a steep learning curve.

I also found that you HAVE to use it on a glass mat or it won't work. Also, use it on the same weight of paper--I've had to swap out blades frequently for fast dulling when I cut cardstock and vellum with the same blade. And I also stand up when I use mine so I can see what I'm doing.

I also live on the removeable scotch tape to hold the template to the paper I am cutting.

My mom bought me one. I HATE IT! It got trashed quickly. I like the Fiskars Shape Cutter better, although it's templates are few in number.
