working with tiny paper pieces

What do you use to hold and position tiny paper pieces to glue onto a page, card, etc? Pieces are so small, making it impossible for my fingers to hold and position.

For example: tiny, tiny holly leaves and really tiny holly berries

I would make sure you get spring loaded tweezers. They don't really have a spring. You could get another brand of tweezers that you have to squeeze to get them to open.

I like tweezers but I've stared using the Silhouette Pick Me Up tool for itty bitty pieces. It has a sticky end that I use to pick up the little pieces and place. The pointy end comes out and I use that to hold the glued piece down so I can lift the pick me up tool without taking the glued piece back up with it. I hope that makes sense. lol I wasn't sure I'd like it but I've used it so much since I got it!

I use tweezers.

I second the Cutterbee Tweezers--so easy to use! I have one of the QK pick-me-up tools from when they first came out about 4 years ago; it was ok, but I'll stick with the Cutterbee Tweezers. The QK tool was very handy for picking little things up off of the floor when I dropped something while heavily pregnant...coulnd't bend over to the side very easily!!!

I just wet my finger (i.e. lick) and pick up and place. Sounds gross, but it is such a teeny tiny amount and it is always available.

I have some reverse action tweezers from Close To My Heart that I use for all the tiny things. I don't remember for sure but I think they came with the eyelet setting tool.

I use Making Memories tweezers. I just had to do this last night to place my Imaginisce gems to heat set with the I-rock. For tiny paper pieces I COULD use the Quickutz tool I bought from Archiver's. I keep forgetting I even have it!

I use a tweezer that I bought at Hobby Lobby- it has an extremely pointy/sharp tip-should be registered as a weapon!! And I also use my paper piercer to hold little cuts down as I apply the glue. Those items all set in my spinning tool caddy next to me at the table.

No, mine is an off brand one, but it is in the scrapbook section, I think it is over by the quilling stuff.

hey i use a small pair of needle nose tweesers to work with little paersd try it woreks pretty well for me

I also use tweezers, or a very fine pair of needlenose pliers from the beading section.

Just regular cheap tweezers from the health and beauty department.

I have the tweezers that stay closed until you squeeze them and the QuickStik. Love the quickstik

I use tweezers most of the time for paper pieces. For rhinestones, I use a wooden skewer with a blob of tacky stuff. I don't know the real name, but it looks like plastercine. It works really well.

Yeah, I don't say this often, but I pretty much HAVE to have that quickstik!

Quickstick. Pick it up, turn it over then apply a teeny dot of liquid adhesive then place it on the page. I use tweezers to help position it onto the page.

For tiny pieces (even to tiny for tweezers) I use a round (not flat) toothpick, take the tip to pin it down to hold in place. With another toothpick I dip it into a glue called memory mount which is super sticky and I have total control on how much to use. with the toothpich being sticky I lift the tiny paper or jewel, and place in the exact spot I want and use the clean toothpick to press into place. I'm not gunking up tweezers, toothpicks are cheap and disposable. Also there is a glue http://store.scrapbook.com/jv-38480.html that is awesome for narrow letters and small paper. It's like a ballpoint pen and I've never had one clog up. My 2 favorite glues!

Here is the ULTIMATE solution. You will rarely use tweezers again.
Scotch 3m removable tape (Blue). It works like transfer paper for vinyl.
Cut out your tiny piece pick up with the tape, turn it over apply you glue I use the quickie glue stick and then place onto your project. Gently peel the tape back. This also help to clean up the little glue buggers if you are using a tape runner. HTH

Creater1, that is a great idea, especially since we are painting contractors.

I use the making memories reverse tweezers before hearing this idea.

For really small things, you can't see through the tape, so you don't know where you're adhering it.

Embellie Gellie... Like having a third hand.

It leaves no marks, doesn't bend, crunch or pop like tweezers can, leaves no filmy residue, doesn't dry out, stretch, or get hard with changes in temperature.

It's especially handy for tiny Cricut letters and also when I cut 1/8" strips of paper and have tiny dots of glue on it and then it's hard to getb off the table. I just take my wand and "WALA"! (Voila!)

sticky/post it notes work well too, but like the tape, you can't see exactly where you are placing it.

I don't know that embellie gellie looks alot like my dental wax.

Microbeads, little paper pieces, tiniest glue drops... so I had to think about somrthing to deal with it. You know what? There's nothing better than your own fingers. No tweezers will help you if you can't control your fingers perfectly. I also used
a) embossing tool of the smallest size; that little ball at the end of the tool is perfect!
b) the smallest (00-size) brush with synthetic bristle.
Both wet (with water or embossing ink) - that's cheap and works well.

But the thing I needed for microthings most was... a surgeon's mask! Because breathing, sighing or sneezing at your workplace makes a total mess on the table and will cause you start it all over again %\

Gotta love the tweezers!!!
