How to make frames to go around pictures?

I hope my ?? makes sense. This is my first post.....

How do you ladies make the frames to go around your pics in your layouts? I'm thinking of something continuous - not using strips....
I think I may have a template to trace that I got years go but then I run into the issue of attempting to but it out neatly....

DH is getting me a Cricut Expression for my B-day next week - are there cartridges with frames on them?

I live very rural (think Walmart) and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for there....or online for that matter...

I don't use frames, I just use mats. It's so much easier to just cut a rectangle (or whatever) bigger than your photo and mount it on there rather than try to cut out the middle of a frame.

Hello, try this technique, it worked for me...

Scrap-a-doodle-doodle-do! Wake up your pages using this super fast framing method! Use your paper trimmer to create 6" x 6" photo mats for all your finished pages.

1. Start by cutting a piece of 12" x 12" paper in half.

2. Next, cut one half in half again, so you end up with a 6" x 6" piece of paper.

3. Now using your paper trimmer, you’re going to remove only the center of the paper. Flip the arm of your paper trimmer up. Align the outside edge of your paper 1" from the trimmer blade slot. Lay the arm back down.

4. Carefully cut from the 1" mark to the 5" mark.

5. Repeat for all four sides.

And as easy as that, you’ve got a 6" x 6" frame with a 1" border! It’s a great way to use scrap paper as well.

I think the expression would probably have some carts with frames on them. I have a Bosskut Gazelle and it comes with sevral decorative frames that I like to use.

it's the only thing I don't care about with the Making Memories trimmer,,,,,can't do it,,,

I use my cutterpede for this,,,,

alternatively, you can cut the center out with a craft knife after marking the back with pencil and ruler,,,,,,

My CM cutter does this technique and it's not rotary.

I stand corrected, Tante But you DO need a cutter that will start a cut in the middle of the paper,,,,

not all do, was my point, but thanks for the correction,,,,,

I have used a Coluzzle nested template to make frames.

(The superstore didn't have the ones I have. You could use a deckle edge as a frame.)
