Big shot vs sidekick

OK...so as you may or may not have heard, I got into a fight with my sidekick and the sidekick lost I was just going to get another one...but after looking at the big shot I am wondering if that may be a better way to go. It will cut both...and it says its 40% lighter than the sizzix.

Thoughts? Input? Suggestions?

I just bought the sidekick over the holidays. I DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL. I have a Big Shot on order from shopathome. I can still use the dies I bought for the sidekick, as well as bigger ones offered with the BIG SHOT. Wish I had waited, the sidekick is just that a SIDEKICK, it's clumsy and the tiny dies are a pill to work with! Good Luck

Well..I did love my sidekick until I broke it...lol! You should give it a chance...About a year ago I posted here how I could not stand my sidekick for all the reasons you mentioned... Once I got used to it...I love it!!

Hi Everyone,

I have both the sizzix and side kick. The border dies can only be used (cut) with the side kick or the Tag-a-long by ellison.

I just ordered the Big Shot and I am waiting for it to come.

I have actually used my border dies in my sizzix. I just took a sharpie and measured off the space needed to be under the pressure plates and when I put the border plate and paper together I used removeable tape or magic tape to hold paper and dies together. Then I slide the die under the pressure plates with the cutting board, Moving the die along and pressing at my sharpie marks. A little complicated but it works every time without having to purchase the sidekick.

Hi! I've used all three - sizzix, sidekick andf the big shot. The new Big Shot is my favorite. It is very easy to use and cuts using all the dies BUT for carrying to a crop the sidekick is still my favorite. The Big Shot is lighter than sizzixc but still heavy. Guess it all depends on what your main use is for it - home or travel.

I just received my Big Shot today. It works great except the cutting pad broke with my second cut. I am now waiting for them to replace the cutting pads.

It is easy to use and can't wait to get the other pads for it.
