inserting pages????

ok, i love to scrapbook, but once the book is full, i move on to another.... but i just bought some new pages that i would like to put in mine, but i don't know how to insert them, and the package had no instructions......

can anyone tell me how?????????

I'm not an expert on this, but I do know it depends on what kind of album it is. If it is a post bound, you can lift up the little strip on the last page. There will be some screws under the strip that you can undo, and then insert your pages and then tighten the screws down again.

I only have these post bound albums, and don't know about other kinds.

my alubm has screws that I have to undo to add pages...I pull up the back flap, and undo the screws.

my problem is...I don't know what kind of extra pages to get, and I don't know the brand of book, it was from walmart.

Do all 12x12 page protectors fit in all 12x12 books?

Not all 12x12 page protectors fit in all 12x12 books, but several of them do...since we don't know the brand, I can't reccomend anything. I could suggest buying a brand on sale or with a Coupon , they aren't too expensive and a sale would make it cheaper....

When you get a pack, you'll find some metal parts. There will be cylindrical things..those are extensions because when you add more than one or two pages, the screw are no longer big enough. To put these in, lift up the flap on the back, undo the screws... put these in just as if they were the screws and then you can put the screws into the extension. Hopefully that made sense.

You'll also wee carboard strips with holes in them. You have these in your book already, this is additional ones. because once the LO is in the page protector, that part is a lot thicker than the part with the holes. This makes up for that difference to secure the pages a little bit. Hope this helps!

ah...the packs I've seen don't have screws with them, just pages...

should I get a different type of album?

I don't know the brand either, it doesn't say on it. It was just at walmart. but when I got it, I couldn't figure out what kind of extra protectors to get. (knowing I'll need more than the 20 it came with), but I didn't think about the screws not fitting. Makes me like 8.5x11 better, I just buy photo albums, take out the photo sheets, and add my scrap pages.

One is a K $ Campany, 12x12 Juliana Suede Album. It'a top loading, that much I can tell.

Also, how to I remove the screw? I doesn't just unscrew...(on the K & Company Album...I can unscrew on the walmart album)

The screws may be in there, just in between the pages. If the pages you buy don't fit, you can punch another hole throught the protector.

Sometimes the screws are so tight you think that you can't unscrew them. what you are doing is just turning the screw in its hole. Try holding the screw on the bottom with one hand and turn the screw head with the other. This may take some help.

Thanks! I'll try that, when I tried to unscrew it, the other side just turned...I did try holding it...but that migh tbe a job for HD. I'll wait, not sure if I need more in that book.

When it doesn't come out, I sometimes pull out that trusty screwdriver...

I did use a screwdriver, not sure how I would do it otherwise, it just turns, even if I hold the other end. I'll have to have dh look at it.

another question on the same topic...

my album has 20 pages, will it hold a total of 40? I have close to 40 for my cruise (I can get a little carried away, and want to use all my useable pictures since I have so few). Anyway, I just wanted to know if it was possible to expand it that much.

I saw someone mention three-ring 12x12, I've never seen them, any ideas where I could find one if I can't expand the 12x12?

The post albums that I have have approximately 40 pages in them (80 sides). Just make sure you have enough extension posts and spacers (I put one every 2-3pages). Just be aware that at that size they are little heavier!!
I've seen 3-ring at Micheals.

I only need to add ten more pages, for a total of 40 sides...(I said pages when I meant sides before).

will the extension post and spacer come with the page protectors or do I get them somewhere else?

(sorry, never worked with 12x12 albums before).

Usually they do come with the page protectors but if not you can buy them seperate too.

I found what I need here, but they're out of stock. walmart didn't have any (no lss, dh is working so I don't want to drag him to them...on a hunt). I'll just get the set here when they have it in. I only found k & company, I'll see if that will work for the no name brand, if not, I'll try something else.

Will punching a hole in the page protectors hurt anything over the long term?

walmart had some, but they aren't a perfect fit to line up with the pages in the book.

I've done it before. Just make sure it's a "good" cut so you don't have it tearing on you later!

I've found that not all posts will actually screw into each other. Kind of a pain. I try to keep the brands the same in order to prevent that trouble. Also, the MM posts are just solid posts that you get in different lengths. So, if they will fit in the hole, I will use them if I don't have enough of the little silver posts.

I ended up just buying another album, that matched the refills, then still didn't line up, and the new hole would have been too close to the hold ones, didn't even think about the screw not working.

Next time, I'll make sure I keep the brand with the album. Blaw.
