Scrappin' in a small space? What's your best storage ideas!?

I have an extremely small space to scrap and store all of my stuff.

Everything is in my bedroom (I live at home with my parents) and I'm not allowed to have it anywhere else in the house. Well, my collection of things is slowly growing (and it's going to grow more this up-coming weekend thanks to the Boyfriend who feeds my little addiction! lol).

My *TV center in my room has a fold out desk. I can sit on the foot of my bed and it is perfect for me! The inside area is about 20" deep, by 25" high and 32" wide. There is a shelf that is non-moveable that sits at about 10" from the bottom and is only 6" deep. It's not very big!

Underneath I have a cubby area, then two drawers (like dresser drawers).

Because of the shelf, I am unable to stand my paper up (which would save space!). So, I was thinking of stacking it in the drawers. I have both 12x12 and 8x11 papers.

The shelf currently holds my idea books/magazines, and my Caboodles case full of stuff.

I have a scrapbook planner that currently holds my large sticker sheets and my borders. I use one of those shoe boxes you can buy at the dollar-store for my stickers/embellishments, and a Caboodles makeup-case for my stamps, ink, adhesives, and punches. A small metal-bucket holds my scissors, pens, & markers. A basket holds my chipboard peices. And, an empty baby-wipes container holds my die-cuts.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can store my stuff better!? I'm running out of room for everything, very quickly!

Good luck figuring out your space. I don't have specific thoughts on your setup, but have you seen the Art Bins? I have limited space and I love these bins. They hold 12x12 paper, keep my projects organized, and they stack.

Those are kinda neat! About how much paper will one Art Bin hold?

what about placing peg board on the all and hanging some of the supplies and tools?

I saw on this site in the scrapbook rooms...someone used a back of door hanger for shoes, the kind that has large pockets for shoes, and put large tools like punches in those pockets. I thought that was a good idea. You could put that on the back of the bedroom door or closet door.

You might could get some of those large flat boxes that roll under a bed for storage as well. Target has those.

They come in different sizes. The one in stock here at the Superstore will hold 2 inches worth. I'm not sure how many sheets that would be.

If you could afford it or if your parents and boyfriend split on your Christmas gift then you can get a scrapbox. My neighbors scrap area is in the basement in a not overly big area. she shares the space the media center, computer and kids toys. I showed her the scrapbox online and in a catalog. It looks like a cabinet and opens up to tone of storage possibilities, plus a fold out desk. I think it come in two sizes plus a desk. I have an extra bedroom as my scraproom so to make sure i can fit all of my supplies i made sure to utilize pretty much every inch of the room. on the back of my door is a pantry rack from home depot. I used old pasta sauce, spice and now gravy jars for storage. add more shelves to your wall if you can. get a bin that slide under your bed to hold somthings or go to home depot or wherever and get tool buckets. be creative.

I also have an over the door shoe hanger for my punches and it is great-if you go that route make sure to invest in a nice one or the weight of the punches will just rip it right down.

Also if you have room under your bed there are great under the bed totes on wheels that just slide right out-even on thick carpet, and they hold quite a lot of stuff!

Also be sure to utilize that vertical storage space, peg boards, more shelves with baskets/boxes.

Do you have room beside your desk for some stackable cubes (like the ones at Michael's)? Some have slots for paper and some have drawers. A stack of three could hold paper, albums, etc. I have about 15 of them in my scrap room and just love them.

how much room is by your chair? do you have enough space to put some vertical paper holders there?

I really like the pegboard idea. I have a small space next to my desk I could hang one up. When it quits raining, I'll go steal one from our shed. It's no longer in use. Plus, I could paint it!

Not everything I have is here. Most is still in a box on my dresser.

My room is pretty small, only 9 1/2' by 8'. I have a full sized bed, a dresser and my TV center in my room. So, I don't have much space at all. I'd love to have the Scrapbox as someone suggested, but just don't have space for it. No room for vertical organizers either. And, I don't have a closet.

I'm going to check out the underbed storage containers this weekend. I'll see if I can find one of those shoe-pockets, too. I don't have many punches (5 in total), but I could put smaller things there, such as ribbon, markers/pens/pencils, and such!

My only suggestion is to utilize your wall space as much as possible! You can store a lot of stuff on your walls by using rods....

I have a shoe holder hung up with command hooks on one of my walls and one on my door also. One holds all of my punches the other has scraps of paper, glue bottles and misc.

When you put up the peg board remember to put slats behind it so you have room to put the hooks in it.

I hung up a clothes line in a corner of my scraproom and use clips to hang up my stickers, this way I see what I have.

pegboards are great, i have one in my closet area of my scraproom. also great is magnet boards with magnetic canisters. you can get the board with canisters at M's

You could also put the bed riser things on the legs of your bed so you can store more under there.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Art Bin totes shown above. I use them for everything. They hold a lot but fit into a relatively small space. They could go under the bed!

I don't know how much paper you have but if it is not a lot you could try putting it in a 12x12 binder. I store my patterened paper in 12x12 scrapbook binders I bought at Hobby Lobby. It takes up very little space and I have hundreds of papers in there cause I can put about 7 sheets in one page protector. I have a photo in my gallery. Also if you could fit a shelf or add shelves to the wall next to your tv center I would think would be better than a peg board cause it would allow you to store a larger variety of things (like jars and boxes). You could also add cork board to the side of your entertainment center and use it as bulletin board. Have fun with it and enjoy your space.

I have always have a small space for my stuff so im very into ideas for organizing all the time. If you can get a 3 ring binder and plastic sheets and copy paper use that to store all your stickers, flat packages, etc. just use double sided tape to tape it into the copy paper and into the plastic sheet.

for ribbons get a makeup bag and punch holes and put the ribbons inside and get the tip out from the hole
For the loose pattern papers i use the creative options project box that holds more than 400 12x12 papers and they can fit under your bed. and for the paper packs i use the usps medium size boxes and cut them in angles and paint the corners to make them cute and thats what i use for packs of papers.

then i dont use peg board but for my mom i cut a pegboard 8.5x11 and i used a photo frame to put it and you can put that photo frame anywhere you want and use it as a peg board

The pegboard idea in a frame is what I thinking about doing! I found a really cute photo frame that had no glass laying around just waiting for something to do. As soon as it dries up outside (flooding from 2 days of rain) my Dad and I are going to cut some of the pegboard to fit the frame and paint it.

I found an old binder that I no longer used and have put some of my stickers in it. All my stencils are now in another binder.

I probably have around 300 or so sheets of paper. I haven't counted it lately. I was thinking about getting the Cropper Hopper Easy Access Paper Holder and some dividers and just keep it on my desk. But, then again I may not. My cat hes decided that paper is fun to destroy! (I already lost two super cute BoBunny pages due to her!) I like for my pretty papers to be on display, but kitty has other ideas. Or I could just get my Mom to sew a cover for it. Something that would just slip over top of it. Wonder if that would work?

I'm getting another one of the pink shoe boxes to put all of my chipboard pieces in. They are easy to stack and I can just slide them in the cubby area. I may get another one for just tools, and another for stamps. The over-the-door shoe hanger I plan on getting and storing my writing stuff, and whatever else I can stick in there!
