Mod Podge As A Sealer

I know you can use it as a sealer, but how do you keep it from being sticky????
  • Vintage Beginnings
Many very "thin" coats and dry in between
  • Lilmrmaid
    matte or glossy finish?????

I've typically used matte finish. As a sealer I think it with water and put it on very thin. Let it dry completely between coats.

So if you use it to seal a coster it will not mess up when it got wet.

Right, providing you applied many layers.

Google Mod Podge...it is water resistant but only up to a point. It's best to use either Royal Coat or Triple Thick.

When I made tile coasters, I used several coats of clear spray paint over staz on. I had to spray it REALLY thin or it would make the ink run.

I have found that Mod Podge can be a little bit tacky at first after it dries. I think it has to "cure" for several days before the surface becomes fully hard and non-tacky.

the gloss lustr'e bottle says to use clear acrylic sealer over modge pode to eliminate tackyness, don't know what that is or where to find it.. I used it on a sara binder book and it took a few days but the tackyness did go away,( no sealer)don't know if that will help
