I used one. My tip is: don't. Even though it was completely dry when I put it in the book, it rotted and almost ruined my page. Some people say coat the flower with a sealant, but I'd rather stick fake flowers in the book and call it a day.
Agreed. You can either seal them or stick them into a plastic sleeve IF it's the flowers you actually want to preserve. If it's just for embellies, they will crack and crumble and they aren't acid free, either.
It just depends on how flat the flowers are. I use flattened dried flowers quite a bit with success. I flatten violets and attach them with mod podge and then mod podge over them as well. No cracking or crumbling, they stay perfectly in place.
I used them on a layout. I dried and pressed them then sealed them in clear contact paper. They were flowers my daughter's classmates gave me and I wanted THOSE flowers in the layout. I made a pocket page and slid the whole bouquet of sealed flowers in the pocket with the story of why I got them on the front of the pocket. I will try to post the layout soon. Trying to get my layouts in a format that will post so you can see them better.
I did. We lost a baby (miscarriage) and after getting out of the hospital my DH gave me flowers. I couldn't bare to throw them out and I pressed some. When I was ready to do a miscarriage layout, I knew I wanted to add some of the flowers. I had heard that using dried flowers on a layout isn't a good idea, so I decided to try something new. I painted them with regular Making Memories scrapbook paint to match my page, and they turned out really pretty. I painted them pink. It's been over 1 1/2 years now and I just went back to look at my layout and the flowers are still there, in great condition. The paint sealed them.
