Xyron sticker maker -- permanent or repositionable?

My sons bought me a Xyron 250 sticker maker, which came with one permanent adhesive cartridge. They also bought me a repositionable sticker cartridge refill.

Which do you prefer? Permanent or repositionable? Will the removable one stay put on a layout or does the item usually fall off?

Also, can you swap the cartridges back and forth? That is, can I use permanent, swap it out for repositionable and then back again without too much waste?

Honestly there's only been a very, very few times I've wanted to use a repositionable Xyron sticker. If you're careful where you put it then there's no need for a repositionable cartridge. I don't know about swapping them back and forth, however. My main concern would be if you took the cartridge out then would it be possible to get it back in again and feed the sticker stuff through.

I like permanent. when I got Xyron 250 with repositionable and it can't stay longer when I put lo up as standing. I think repositionable is good for kids to use when they tend to change mind about position.

Don't know about swapping, didn't try that.

Why not you try to test with small sample. One with permanent and one with repositionable...

You can swap without any waste.

I use permanant all the time. I have a Xyron 950 refill of repositional that I only use for making sticky mats for my Silhouette.

I only have the 150 and I like the repositionable, especially for when I'm placing title letters, BUT I was just speaking to the owner of my lss last week and she informed me that they were told that eventually (maybe a matter of a few years) the repositionable dries up and your items will fall off. I'm not happy about that and plan to switch to permanent when I run out of repositionable and then we'll see what happens with all that I've already used.

I've always used the repositionable and have never had a problem with things drying up and falling off. I've used it for several years (since the repositional first came out- I use the X and the next size up).

That is so good to hear! I've been using it for about a year now. Was planning on doing some research on it, ask Xyron about it.

i've always used the permanent in my X and was thinking about picking up a repositionable. Now, I'm rethinking. Don't really have a reason to switch- just thought it might be nice if I mess up. AND the permanent isn't totally stuck down until you push it down- if you just lightly put the whatever down onto the page you can still move it if you're careful.

Terrifically Tacky- now THAT stuff sticks just by touching the whatever. LOL

I do not have good luck with the repositional my letters do not stick all the way and I've had to go back and glue them. The permanent works much better for me.

I purchased the repositional cartridge & have not had a problem w/ it, but I use the permenant more than anything...

I use both. I prefer the repositional when I'm using a template or not sure of the placement and want to try it out first.

I use only repositionable--I like to change my mind, experiment, prepare for mistakes. But I've never had a problem with things coming off; in fact, by the next day it's pretty permanent. Also, yes, you can switch off.

I mostly use the repositionable for masking areas. Everything else gets permanent.

I have never used the the repositionable, only hte permanent.
