What is a grease marking pencil for?

Hi all

I've purchased a starter scrapbooking kit and was trilled at what I got.

But just wondering what the heck a "grease marking pencil" is used for in scrapbooking.

Maybe for writing on the back of pictures. That's the only thing I can think of. I used to wait tables and we had them there, mostly to write on tickets and stuff. But I don't know about scrapbooking.

I know a lot of people who use them to mark their cut marks when using templates. That way they can do it on the front of the pic and then when they've cut it, they can just wipe it off. Hugs, Desire'

I think it's an old-timey tool for cropping photoes for the days before Coluzzle and other shape cutting tools. You would use a template to draw a circle or other shape on your picture with the grease pencil, then cut it out, and any remaining grease pencil marks could be rubbed off.

I've read that you can use them to mark where you want to make cuts on page protectors to accommodate interactive elements. Put your page into the protector, mark where you want the cut (for example, where a tag could be pulled out), remove the page and slide in a small cutting mat. Make your cut, remove grease pen marks and cutting mat, and reinsert page. Haven't tried it myself, but sounds easy.
