Glue for card making

I'm new here and i have been searching for some information on glue types but i cant seem to find the tread. I know this is a common question and i would be surprised if it hasn't been asked before.

What kind of glue will NOT make the card stock/paper ripple or warp?

I have tried everything from glue sticks, to glue made specifically for card making as well as Tombo mono liquid glue.

It seems as though anything wet will make the paper warp which is perfectly understandable but for those very intricately cut designs from a silhouette cameo you have to have some sort of adhesive that is small enough to hide but not warp card stock. What are your opinions? Thank you for reading and any input is greatly appreciated!

I use something like this for intricate things now. The dots are super tiny. Adhesive Technologies - Dot Glue Runner Refill - Repositionable - 8.75 yards - 2 Pack
This is for the bigger things. Scotch ATG - Adhesive Applicator Gun - Pink - Uses One Fourth Inch Adhesive

Thanks so much for the info. I've been using a lot of glue dots and i bought an elmers refillable tape runner but it is horrible, it keeps getting stuck and wont roll. I do love the idea so i will look up both of the items you have shown me.

You're welcome. I got to thinking...I'm not sure if all of the dot runners put down the tiny dots or if some are bigger. Hopefully someone else can help or it'll tell in the product description. I couldn't tell by the one I linked.

I'll take a look at it. I have been limping my way through them doing various little tricks to adhere the cards together but i was thinking there has to be something easier. Any information will help and i can also research the items you have shown me also! I am so excited to talk to someone who has an idea what i'm talking about. lol no one else in my family is crafty and my husband tries to help but you know hes totally not interested in making it he just wants to see the finished product. lol Glad i can make some new friends that i have something in common with!

I'm a complete fan of the ATG. You can get acid-free tape for scrap-booking, or the cheaper regular tape that I would use on cards.

I also use just normal cheap double-sided tape. It doesn't take that much extra time.

For tiny intricate parts like doilies, I use a glue stick, just on the delicate parts. Dab straight down and up again to avoid tearing it.

Those are some awesome ideas! i have never used double sided tape on the roll but I but an elmers tape runner and it kept getting stuck and when it got low it wouldn't roll but still had tape left. I will try the brands you mentioned. Thanks so much!

ok so, been making a few cards I did not get the tape runner yet, still want too and will but i have been using Glue Dots. Love those!!! they do everything i need. For the really fancy intricate cut outs i have been using, Tombo mono liquid Glue and its amazing. i love it and have had no problems!!

I also just bought the elmers craft bond adhesive spot stamper.. It seems to be amazing also. Its thin just like a tape runner and but spots almost like glue dots so you can stick em where you want! Give it a try!

My favorite is the ATG and the Tombow Mono Adhesive. I just learned about the Tombow from my aunt who is a Stampin' Up demonstrator! It's amazing!

Most of the time, I use my ATG glue runner. If it is something tiny, or delicate (like some of my lacy die cuts), I use Elmer's quick dry white glue and apply very small amounts with a tooth pick or a paper piercer.

You could also use the Xyron for little pieces.

I use my ATG because it lasts so long. I also have a Quickie glue pen and it is very useful when I want to put glue on teeny, intricate parts of things I cut out with Spellbinders dies.

I love Tombow but you do have to realize that you don't need glue all over... Many people use much more than is necessary.... I hit the corners, a thin line down the sides and just a dot in the middle. For smaller things, I used xyron

I use my ATG the most. Pop dots for dimension and a glue pen for tiny pieces.

I use my ATG for most things, and tiny dots of liquid glue for things that require more precision, (I can move it around a little when I first put it down). If I want dimensions I usually use the Scotch mounting tape that comes on a roll. Yea, I'm frugal.

I see that most card makers on YouTube use Tombow multi mono glue, but what is the advantage of that brand over regular Elmer's or Tacky glue? The Tombow comes in such tiny bottles?

I've seen one crafter who uses Mod Podge (sp?) for glue. She just puts a little puddle on her craft mat and picks up a little with a toothpick. Opinions?
