Does anyone know if you can paint chipboard with red and after it dries good, can you apply Tim Holtz crackle paint-black soot over the top and it will crack and show the red underneath?????????????
I don't see why it would work since that is what it is suppose to do. The only thing I would be concerned about if it wrinkled my chipboard from the moisture. If the chipboard is thick enough I think you should be just fine. Post of picture if you would please after your done as I would love to see what you are doing. Sounds great!
Ok, I painted the swirl with Heidi Swapp crimson red paint and then after it dried, I applied a thick coat of crackle paint over the top. It cracked and looked awesome. Here is a close up of it.
It looks like I'm a little late with my answer. Yes, you can paint and crackle chipboard. In fact chipboard is very easy to paint. The paint goes on real smooth. Just make sure you let the layers dry thoroughly before applying the next and did you know that applying a thin coat of crackle produces a small crackle pattern and a thick coat produces a large crackle?
yes, I applied a thick coat. I first tried it on a scrap piece of chipboard and did a thin layer, so when I did the real project, I used a thick coat cuz that is what the bottle said.
When you use the Plaid, do you first paint two layers of contrasting color, and then when they dry apply the crackle medium so that your top layer cracks?
