Ideas for the LAST PAGE of a Wedding Book

If I read your question correctly, you're asking something to the effect of, how do you tie in all the pages of a wedding album... is this right?

If that's what you mean, I have some ideas there, too, based on my experience doing my album.

1. Use a consistent page element for either every page, every section (rehearsal, ceremony, after ceremony, reception, etc.), or every LO or set of LO's that go together. By page element, I mean, a border, a title design, a font, whatever. For my album, every LO (whether it's one 2 two pages... essentially every page that gets a title) has a vertrical strip of paper on the outside edge with the title on that. I used either cream or white for the paper where the lettering is, and then put burgundy as a mat under that. By just having skinny strips of burgundy, which was my color, I can get that onto the page as another unifying theme even if the pictures don't suit themselves to having burgundy near them. Some of the pages, I left out the burgundy and just used white/cream, if the color really would have been bad. I think there are some examples of this in my gallery. I have some unfinished pages in there, but most of the pages that are there have this strip on them.

2. Use a momento from your wedding in a similar fashion. If you had ribbons printed with your names and dates, that would be neat to use as a border or as bows scattered throughout the album.

3. Write the lyrics to your song in small letters along an edge of the pages to make a border running through the album.

I think tying everything together was the hardest part for me to overcome in this album. I'm not done yet, so we'll see how well I can keep it up. It is easier to do if your pictures are B&W, but I had color in my dress and very colorful flowers/decorations, so I wanted color pics.

Anyway, sorry this is so long. I hope that I read your question right and answered it well. If not, I apologize, but maybe I gave some help to someone else.

WOW, these are some of the best ideas EVER!! Thanks so much for all your suggestions. I'll be trying to wrap it up and get this final page done and post it and would love to get some feed back. I'm heading out on vacation but when I get back, I'm determined to get that page done!!!!

I had a specific photo taken of us after seeing my friend's ordinary photo album of her wedding and wanted a similar look (long before hearing of scrapbooking) Theirs was of both of them walking hand in hand down a tree lined path. Mine is dh and I walking hand in hand through a garden. I plan on using that shot as my last page.
I haven't even started my wedding album yet as I am so daunted by the prospect, these album threads are giving me some great ideas though. I have so many photos I don't know whether to include all of them in one album or just the professional ones or just favourite ones, I have a good couple of hundred shots all up. Let alone tying it all together and deciding on a colour scheme - too much!! LOL

Hello, I'm brand new to the site. I've only been scrapping a few years. I have just finished a 56 page wedding album for my husband and I (after being married almost 6 years). I am struggling with the very last page. I just cannot think of a good way to end it, and I have been working on this since January and want it to be just as perfect as the rest of the album. Does anyone have any clever ideas they would like to share with me?? I really appreciate any advice anyone can give.

Maybe write something about the wedding only being the begining. While the photos of the "party" are finished there is much more to the story.

(I'm not as poetic as most of the others but I hope you hear what I am trying to say)

Ok, I have several ideas for you... I'm working on my wedding bok too. We've been married a year and a half. All these are acting on the assumption that the album is only the wedding (ceremony and reception) NOT the honeymoon. I'm not sure what your style is, so these ideas range from classic/traditional to a little more fun. I hope this helps.....

1. If there was a photo of you taken as you were leaving the church or reception, use just that one photo and add some journalling about...
a. your memories of the day
b. reflecting back on that day from the present tense, after 6 years of marriage
c. where you were headed after the wedding (this could be in an immediate sense - the honeymoon, or in a broader sense - to our very first house, first child, etc)

2. Use one large photo of the type I described above, or just a great pic of the two of you from that day, and hinges to hide journalling about either a or b above. Put some sort of decorative tag on the outside, saying something to the effect of "open on 25th anniversary"

3. Use one large photo like I said in 2, but cover it with a transparent overlay with some sort of inspirational love or marriage type quote. You can buy this or make it. Personally, if I did this, I wouldn't add any other journalling, probably not even something hidden. Let the picture and quote stand by themselves.

4. A large picture again, placed somewhat more up to the top of the page, with "The End" below it. Would look neat if you had the very first page being "Once upon a time...." with or without a picture.

5. If you have a lot of odd pictures of random guests (I had a camera on each table, so there were some weird pics that were un-useable), trim out the people and make a large collage of all the guests. You can do it in even shapes like squares, or trim the people out and make it more mosaic-like.

6. If there is a pretty clear breaking point with the next to the last page (like, if you already did the goodbye shot or something like that) maybe do a "flash forward" type of page with a picture of your house or family.

I'm working on my wedding album and I'm thinking for the last page it's going to be an enlarged shot of me and my husband walking away with the phrase
"To Be Continued..."

I'm doing our wedding album (actually 2 - one for snapshots, planning etc, and one for the professional pictures) and one of our professional pictures is the back of the car as we are driving away so that's going to go on the last page. Also, I found a sheet of paper at my LSS that I think I'm going to use as well. It says Wedding memories at the top, has a border, and then just a bunch of lines for writing.

I don't have any pics from our wedding, my ex had them and he told me he threw the album away. But I do remember that the photographer made the album for us and the last page had the marriage certificate and a message saying "to be continued for the next 50 or more years". I like all the ideas the other had too.

I think that the idea(s) Laurel had are Terrific. I like the idea of the last page being the picture of you walking out of the church (was there a concession type line with people throwing rice/blowing bubbles/whatever they do now?) That would be sweet

Welcome. I'm still working on my album and have been married almost ten years! Do you have a picture of you heading off for your honeymoon, leaving the reception? We have a very cool picture of us taking off. You could use something similar with a cliche: "They lived happily ever after" "We've only just begun."

Wow! Lots of great ideas. I've been working on our wedding album for about a year now, but the last page was one of the first I created. We had a neat picture of our initials in a big heart drawn in the sand. I used this photo and titled the page

"...and they lived happily ever after.The End!"

I crossed out the word "end" and wrote "beginning" over it. It's one of my favorite layouts. Good luck.

I did my brothers wedding album and I planned to have the last page as them walking out of the reception ... it ended up being the third last page. I then added a page of credits. That was so much fun! I cut up photos and got tiny photos (of varying sizes) of all the important people of the day, including wedding car drivers, the photographer, etc. Then I arranged them in a heart shape and wrote their name and role next to the photo. It's one of my favourite pages in their album. Then on the last page I put a photo of me and my dh (to be at that stage) and my brother and his wife and then wrote a note to them telling them that I hope they enjoy their marriage and their album. Obviously, the real last page won't work in your album, but maybe the others will?

I didn't make my wedding album, my aunt did. But If I had made it it would have a pic of dh and me, hand in hand, (or him carrying me if I was skinny LOL) walking away silhoutted against the sunset. I don't even know if I would have a caption.

I love the "And they lived happily ever after. The End." With "End" crossed out and overwritten with "Beginning".

I'm getting married this fall, and I'm already giving some thought to how I want to do my wedding album. I'm not sure if I'll even have a "last page". I think I may add another page each year on our anniversary, with a picture of us and journaling about what happened during that year. I think it will be neat to look back and see how we changed over the years and read about the experiences we shared.

Hey, now that's a cool idea Collen - or even have an Anniversary book. Hmmm...I may have to take that idea and run with it.

I've got everything gathered and have the plans to make one for us from when we were dating up until the wedding so maybe Vol 2 could be the anniversary book. Maybe an 8x8? Hmmmm....sorry, I'm thinking while I'm typing. hehe.

Our first anniversary is in a month so I'll just have to make sure and take pictures. Thanks for the idea Colleen!

About the anniversary book. I plan to make a seperate album for this. We got married in April with the trees and tulips in full bloom--so beautiful. On our first anniversary (I was 6 months pregnant) we went back to the place where we got married and took some photos. On our second anniversary we went back to the same spot and took pictures with our 9 month old son. Each year we plan on going to that same spot (if possible) and taking a family photo. I know that it will be one of my favorite albums. It will be fun to see the progression of our family.

Love these ideas! I'm in the same boat(soon to celebrate 6 yr. anniversary), but at the beginning of a wedding album. I have a few sketches picked out to repeat throughout the album to keep it simple. I'm gathering embellishments, words, and titles! I've bought some wedding paper, but realized they don't really go together.

MY QUESTION:do you use the same background paper for all the pages(ie Bazzill cardstock) and then glitz each one up with embelishments depending on what part of the day it was? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I love the poem! Me and my husband are actually having two weddings (military thing) so I'll have to use that!

I used it in an album I made for my grandparents, and it brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. It's definitely going to appear in my wedding album, which I just might start on before our Golden Anniversary! LOL

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that idea! Just picture you looking at it, remembering everything you've been through together. What a wonderful idea!
