Vellum - any preferred brand

Is there any significant difference in brands of vellum? I need to restock my supply and wonder if there's any great brand out there.

I get a 50 page pack at the local office supply store. I think it runs about $8. I prefer it to that found at my LSS.

I got a bunch of it at paperandmore dot com for wedding usage. I use the leftover in my sb's and it works great. It was by far the best price I could find. You get larger quantities, but I plan to get a variety pack next time, and split it with friends, or use some for swap prizes etc for this site. It works great in my computer printer too!

I got a pack of 10 sheets at Target for under $3. I've used it already & it works just great.

sheesh! where are you getting these things? vellum (my sister and i love it) is the costliest staple for me. it is always so expensive. but i'm going to papersandmore now

I got that pkg in the SB section of Target. It's 10 sheets of 5 assorted colors 8.5x11 vellum sheets (they aren't colored vellum, per se, but patterned or tinted...make sense?) I printed on a sheet today in the laser printer & it's awesome! They also have pkg of mulberry paper for the same price (10 sheets for under $3)!!!

I bought a pack at Walmart. Much cheaper than the LSS.

Sounds like plain vellum is someplace I can save some money & buy cost effective options... Thanks for the tips.

Yeah. I got the same pack of paper at Target that "jbhood" got. I was so happy because I was staying away from vellum because of the price!

My favorite is Stampin Up cardstock vellum. It doesn't curl at all. It is a little on the pricey side though.

I did just buy some with white swirls on it from Big Lots. I got 25 sheets for $1.00. Can't beat that.

I'm not a big fan of the patterned/colored vellums ... I'm not fully decided that I don't like them, but I'm on the fence. Unless I see something AMAZING with it, I probably won't buy it.

I use the plain 8.5 x 11" vellum from M's. I love printing on it, then using embossing powder. I just have to make sure I don't do that "too much" where it becomes boring.

A bit pricey but I found "sticky vellum" at AC Moore and it's great!! It's a regular sized sheet with adhesive on that back. So...no issue of seeing the adhesive thru the vellum. I iwsh I bought more of it....my ACMoore is 2 hours away.

I like M's vellum, too, but it is a little more pricey. It is a heavier weight than that I got from ebay that was "wedding" vellum. I guess it depends on what you are trying to do with it....
