Letter Stencils

Hi, I'm just starting out with scrapbooking and really enjoy it. I have a friend who also does quite a bit of scrapbooking and she said that the has some letter stencils (so that she can trace letters on anything and then cut them herself); she got some of these stencils at a local shop that closed down. So I'm wondering if anyone would know of a place I could find a few different font stencils (I've already checked ebay and amazon to not avail). Thanks so much and have a great day everyone!

Hi. Welcome to scrapbooking. I went searching and I think you are looking for are called alphabet templates. A search for them with that term should help you find a few.

I used to have quite a few of these but I think that they have gone out of style as people have realized that dies, stickers and just printed computer titles (which can also be cut out) are just a lot easier to do. Still, I've done the tracing thing and come up with some good results too.

Fiskars makes some that are available in my local big box stores. Fiskars Shape Templates. They're usually blue in color and are heavy acrylic.

Another place to look is office stores. Stencils are still sold for labelling in offices. Good luck!

Hi, I used to have a ton of stencils, but then I spent so much time cutting letters out, I had less for the rest of the layout, so I switched to stickers and computer printouts like the rest of the posters. One thing about stencils though, is they are a lot less expensive for nice lettering! So if you're willing to put in the time they can be a great option for not just lettering, but borders, frames and cut outs. I have a bunch with ocean themed images for tracing and cutting as well as Valentine's, etc. You might want to check the kid's craft section at Walmart or Target, I've seen them there recently. There are kids craft sets at the big box craft stores. I saw some yesterday that had a few plastic templates included in the set.

Check 2-Bay. Just search Fiskars Stencils, or Coluzzle Stencils, etc. I just saw a bunch of them the other day out there.
