Fiskars punch that won't punch

Do you need to unlock the fiskars corner punches somehow? I got one at a garage sale the other day sort of similar to this (it says seagull on it) and it won't punch for anything. I mean I can't even feel the spring move. Has anyone had this problem before? Is there a way to fix this?

Gonna try some WD40 to see if that loosens it. If nothing else I can pry it open with a screw driver but I'm afraid that will break the plastic. Any ideas would be really helpful.

I have not had a problem like that with a Fiskars punch, however I had a corner punch. That left a not smooth corner. I didn't have a receipt to take it back to the store but Fiskars replaced it. I contacted them via the website

I bought one with leaves on it, It punched a few times and then stopped , I called the Fiskars company and they replaced it for me.

Hmm. Sounds like it might be a problem with the design. I got it for free with some other stuff I bought at the garage sale, so no big deal. I'm going to be testing all the other punches I find second hand from now on though!

It might be a good idea if everyone on the planet avoided fiskars punches forever. Take them to punch heaven!! I'm saying this with Tongue n cheek, of course. It's just that over the last three weeks, so many people coming forth complaining about their punches.

I think it's amazing that Fiskars will replace a faulty product of theirs, no matter how old it is, no questions asked. I don't know of any other company that will do that. I don't know of any companies in the UK that will do that at all. You guys are lucky, you know that?
