Making Pockets or Envelopes

I have a couple of items that I'd like to incorporate in my next project that I was thinking about using on my next scrapbook page. I've never tried making small envelopes or even a small pockets to scrapbook. For those who've incorporated envelopes and/or pockets before I'd love and appreciate tips and advice.

You can buy envelope makers, but what I do is find an envelope shape I like, gently take it apart, draw around it and then cut, fold and glue it. Use vellum or printed paper or even a paper doily.

Over the years I have always just googled for free templates for envelopes and pockets, and printed them out. I usually print them on a cardstock so it is more durable. There are lots of styles out there.....have fun playing

Do you ever use envelopes or pockets with page protectors? I've wanted to but wasn't sure how to.

I cut out an easy rectangle, use a score board to make neat lines, run a line of glue on the back to stick them down n then cut a card or tag to slip inside. Easy peasy.

I placed it so people could just reach into the top a little bit to pull out the brochures, if they wanted to, and they easily slip back into place without having to remove the LO from the protector. I used a brad on each side at the top of the pocket to give better stability since the weight of the brochures tended to pull the pocket loose. It works great now~Judy
