Gift for Grandma ideas?

Hi all,
I am making a scrapbook for my parents and in-laws for Christmas. (It is of my DD). It is a 9x11 photo album.
I would like to make something for Grandma as well. I'd like it to be different than the others, but not sure I just want to do a smaller album. I thought maybe something different would be better. Do you have any ideas? I don't want it to be real cheesy either.

what about a paper bag album? It's different yet you can make it really beautiful!

How old is Grandma? My mom is 85 and I know in her case, she doesn't need or want anymore photo albums. If anything, she's downsizing and passing those types of things on.

My mom made a comment to me last week. She doesn't drive anymore and she said she sometimes misses people's birthdays because she can't get to the store to buy a card. I'm going to make her a pack of cards so she doesn't have to worry about buying them. I'm going to make mostly birthday (because we have a huge family), some sympathy, get well, thank you and a few blank note cards. They're quick to make so I'll have them done by Christmas no problem. She always comments on my handmade cards so I hope she appreciates them.

The card idea is fabalous! Maybe some kind of photo frame or shadow box!

I was also thinking about a framed LO. The cards are a good idea too.

My Grandma belongs to "The Old Broads". (I swear that's what they call themselves) Anyway she doesn't like to tote around an album to show of the great-grandkids so I made her a mini lunch pail album. The pages are only 3x5, very clean and simple layouts on them. The pail is one from prove craft. She gets a kick out of taking her MiMi -pail to coffee. She can swap out pages as I add new. Then I made a small box decorated to match the pail for the overflow to be stored in.

I too love the card idea! I'll have to borrow that idea for next year

For my grandmother, I made her a quilled cross and then matted and framed it. She's religious, so I know she'll love it.

For DH's grandmothers, I made 6"x6" albums of the past 1 1/2 years together. So much has gone on in our lives since Christmas '04 that I thought it would be neat to document it since they both live in FL and we've only seen one grandma since Christmas '04.

Thank you so much for the imput. Grandma is about 85 as well. She lives with my Parents so she doesn't have much 'table' space. I can't really see Grandma toting around a lunch pail... for pics. (sorry if I'm misunderstanding). I saw something really small on DIY scrapbooking.Maybe I could make her that and give her a framed LO?
That way she has one to hang at home and something to take out to show off if she wants to.
Another question, If i make something small for her.... she has another Grandchild.... I am not in contact with the parents... should I leave a couple of pages so she can add PICs of him or no? I'm kind of thinking no.... but do you all agree?I could call his Mother (Other Grandchild's Mom) and ask... it would be awkward though......

this probably won't work for her, but for mine I went to joanns and I bought a couple of their stepping stones, and I'm going to have the kids each create one for their grandmas gardens. I'm hoping they aren't difficult because knowing me, I'll wait til the last minute.

i have for a few years been working on a timeline album for my grandma, starting at her birth, I even found an old birth announcment for her. Or you can make an album of her grandchildren, or her favorite hobby.

or a large collage that she can hang on her wall, mix it up, there are many scrapbooking possibilities without having to use an album.

Everyone had great ideas!!! I am making albums for both my parents and my mother in law. If I were to make something for the Great grandma's I would do a framed layout or small brag book. I would only include my children because each parent needs to share their children with their family in their own way. It may even inspire the other parents to do the same for grandma!

Sounds cute! I think it would work to just leave space for the other grandchild.

I love the card idea too. I would even make a little box to organize them and maybe include birthdays and current addresses of everyone. Cards are super easy too. Really, they are easier than scrapbooking in my opinion. However, I understand if you do not want to make them.

Sort of scrapbook related-

For my grandparents 40th, we made them a picture quilt with matching pillows of pics from their younger years and families, but also their 4 kids and their families. Then we made them each their own pillow with one picture and a title. Grandma's had Grandpa's senior picture and a title "What a Babe" They LOVED it. Maybe you could do something like that? A pillow with a few fun pics?

PS We printed off pictures on Tshirt transfer and used regular cotton material so the pics came out great.
