Aleens Tacky Glue

Eeeekk!!! The lady at my LSS told me she uses the Aleens Tacky Glue on her work so I bought it and use it a lot. Now I read somewhere in the forum that it is not acid fee. Is this so????? What happens if you use something that isnt acid fee anyway?

I checked the Duncan site and didn't find out any info on it being acid free. Does your bottle say anything about using it on paper? There are different kinds of Aleenes glue. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Can you use your ph tester pen on the dried glue to see if it comes up acid free?

i checked this out online awhile ago and found the ph of it, it is not acid free.

I used it for a lot of stuff but not in my scrapbooks, glad i found that before i did!

As long as its not directly on/near your photos, you should be ok, the fear with acid products is it can fade your pictures over time, something we are trying to preserve. Obviously it would be best not to use it in scrapbooks because of the possibility of the acid 'migrating' to photos or other elements on your page and damaging them in the long run.

I use Aleene's Clear Tacky Gel Glue to hold heavier items on my pages and it isn't acid free. But, Aleene's does have a type of glue for paper crafts and scrapbooking. It is Aleene's 2-n-1 glue.
