Glue Glider Pro

Does anyone have this? What do you think of it? How long does the adhesive last you? Is it worth it? I just bought one at HL over the weekend with a coupon. I figured I could buy refills with the 40% off Coupons when they have them. I've been using ZIG glue which usually costs $6 w/out a coupon and it just doesn't last as long. Plus, sometimes..I don't know how...I get little glue gobs" on my pics and it's irritating to have to wipe them off. I'm trying to find a more convenient, cost efficient adhesive. Any thoughts would on this product would be greatly appreciated

Oh I love my glue glider.. The only problem i've had with it is the tacky cartridge.. sometimes it pulls apart while your trying to apply adhesive. Other then that, it lasts long!

I don't understand what you mean about the cartridge pulling apart? I just used mine on a page and it seems to work pretty well. I am going to see how many pages I can get done with a roll. I never really did that with the ZIG glue I used to compare, but oh well. I like it pretty good so far

I too, just bought this- mostly just because it is so cute!!- so far i like it, i haven't had to refill it yet, wished i'd paid attention to how many LO's i have done with it- if i had to guess, i'd say maybe 10, but it is now getting pretty low. I am thinking that for some reason, i am using more on each LO - maybe because it seems kinda easy and fun?? sounds strange, i know, but it glides so nicely, i kinda wanna just keep rolling! My question was, i only have seen them at Hobby,so if they stop carrying them, where do we get our refills??

I get mine at my LSS..

Where the adhesive is on the roll.. the roll will seperate and come out the bottom of the cartridge.. its wierd.. thats my only prob i've had with it and its only happened on a few of the cartridges i've used.. like maybe one or two

    I love mine!!!

I bought one as a test, and like it. I love my ATG, but it would be nice to have something smaller to carry on travel (easier to pack for a flight that way).

Once I've emptied the cartridge, I'm going to pull it apart and see if I can get an ATG roll to work in the thing. I know the full ones are too big, but I have one I've run down about halfway in my ATG gun, and it might actually fit.

I got one for Christmas (I asked for it) and it came with the perma tac adhesive in it. I also got a repositionable refill. The perma tac was great! I've been scrapping all week and I used it up. Then I switched to the refill. I hate that adhesive! It snaps up, gets on the side of the "gun", gums up on the paper. I wrote to the company complaining about this type of adhesive. They were great! They sent me a replacement (I got the perma tac) and they send an envelope to return the defective (IMO) adhesive cartridge.

I think I will stick with the perma tac (although I think there is more adhesive in the repositionable cartridge than the perma tac)

I didn't want an ATG...too big. But I LOVE this size and the adhesive works great! And I am impressed with the customer service.

Melissa, let us know how that works out! I just got my cool new tool a couple of days ago and used it for the first time last night. I have to say, I am quite impressed with it.
The evolution of my adhesive experience has been like this: I used glue sticks (yuck), then I moved on to the Dotto thing, which was fine at first, but the refills were difficult to put in, and even though I washed the cartridge, I had trouble pushing it on the page. Then, I tried the Duck adhesive that are red. I like those, but I did have trouble with a couple of them, and I couldn't open it up to fix it, so I had to throw them away when they were practically full. So, I decided to try the Glue Glider Pro. So far, I think it works awesome. I hope there aren't too many problems with it!!

I will keep you guys posted on how it goes. It may be a bit before I get to try the ATG in it, since I need to scrap through the tape that comes in the cartridge first, but if I get it to work I'll post photos to my blog showing how to do it.

BlingFairyVivian came up with the idea and shared it with me, I just happened to beat her to Hobby Lobby to buy one that day.

i love mine too...i was thinking of returning it after asking the other girls who have used ATG...they said ATG is better and cheaper...So far i liked the Glue Glider Pro...its cute and easy to use...maybe the use of the cartridge really depends on how you use it...but i will definitely but ATG too...next time...

I've seen them on the evil auction site.
  • CorrieW
I know an online place that sells them, send me a PM if you want it. I got the ATG but I noticed these on the other site.

I love my glue glider pro. I have no complaints at all whatsoever with it.

For those who were asking about length and how long it lasts, the cartridges hold 40 feet (480") for $8.99 (at Hobby Lobby). Compare that to a refill for the Tombow (472") for $3.99. So if you've ever used a Tombow before, you can expect the Glue Glider Pro refill to last the same amount of time.

Good thing I got the Perma Tac. I don't think my HL had any other refills other than that one anyway. They also have the Glue Glider Max or something like that don't they? I assume it's about as big as an ATG gun. I saw it there, but it looked TOO big to hold. I don't know. I think it was like $30 or something so it would be a good buy with the coupon. We'll see...so far I really like it. Thanks for all the input

    Lal,
I have the Glue Glider Max. I haven't used it much because intimidates me! The cartridge that came in it was torn so when I tried to advance the paper part of the roll, it ripped in half and I have no clue how to fix it. So I put in another cartridge.

I guess what I don't like about it is that it doesn't lay down a continuous line of adhesive. It lays down a square (?) of adhesive every few inches. Maybe this is a good thing....I don't know.

I haven't given it much of a chance yet really. I'm going to a crop on Feb 7th so I'll take it with me and try it then.

I didn't buy this one. My BFF won it at a crop we were at and didn't have a clue what to do with it so she gave it to me! Can't beat a deal like that huh?

I have the glue glider max and I am in love with mine. my archivers has only sold the refills a few times and they seem to be out every time I go in. so thats a bummer. is the glue glider pro the same as the glue glider max?? I like the pink in the pro one HEHE.
  • Lal
    I like the pink too
Daph, I wonder if that's how they differ? Mine does a continuos line of adhesive...does everyone else's? Yeah, the size of the Max was definately a drawback for me. I'll see how I like the Pro the more I use it.
