Crop-a-dile vs Big Bite

I never did buy a crop-a-dile and do use eyelets occasionally in my lo's. The only time I get to scrap is at night after my little ones go to bed.

How quiet are these (vs my little hammer and punch for making holes--which I can't use after they go to bed it is so loud)?

Is there a reason to buy one over the other (other than the length of their reach)?

neighter one of them make any noise - the big different between the two is how far into the page it will work. the crop a dile will only go about an inch or so into a page, the big bite will go the middle of a 12 x 12 page. if you're going to spend the ;money, I would go with the big bite, just because of the added reach.

I agree...if you haven't bought either, go ahead and get the Big Bite. I got the Crop-a-dile right before the Big Bite came out, and I wish now that I hadn't because I can't justify getting the Big Bite...yet

they're ABSOLUTELY SILENT unless of course you manage to get your finger in the masher part while punching your paper (been there, done that and it HURTS) in which case there may be some cursing and yelling going on.

I'd get the big bite (I've got the original and use it fairly often) if you plan to use it just at home- they're pretty hefty to carry around.

I bought the Crop-a-Dile and it's so easy to use and totally silent. Then the Big Bite came out, yah I bought it too. Glad I did for the hard to reach spots. I still use the small one lots, just cause it's easy to grab.
My sister actually bought the Crop-a-Dile for the same reason as you. She scraps at night when her family is sleeping, no more hammering!!

I bought the Big Bite and love it! No noise, like every one else said... If you get Coupons for HL or Michaels, you can always use the coupon on the Big Bite. That's what I did! Very happy with the purchase

I wish I would have waited & purchased the Big Bite...I would love to be able to reach further into my paper & punch holes...Everytime Michaels have a good coupon you can't find the Big Bite..I guess I will just keep waiting...

idk if this has been said or not but oriental trading has the big bit i think its pretty cheap but probably better if you use a 50% off coupon for michaels or acmoore.

I bought the regular one a long time ago and so far I am not really feeling like I just HAVE to have the big bite. Another wonderful benefit to this tool is that it punches holes SO SUPER easily. There are many times when I'm just using it to punch holes in chipboard. You can go through clipboards, metal, acrylic, cd's, the list goes on and on..... It is well worth the price and you will LOVE how silent it (and easy) it really is!

Thanks for the advise everyone! I bought the Big Bite today at Michaels with my 50% off.

Right now I'm just happy with the regular one, and never regretted it once with the expense. It's so quiet, and so easy to use. Just don't have the need right now to get a bigger one yet, but might, as the regular one meets my needs very well.

I only use my Cropadile for altered chipboard and metal art stuff anymore.
I just use a paper piercer to punch holes.

I've got both of them and love them - they are so easy to use. Make sure you keep the directions for the different settings - I'm bad about forgetting those.

BTW ... I have both. I like the regular because I can use it sitting down. I have stand and gently lean on the big bite. But the big bite can reach anywhere on a 12" x 12" layout. The regular crop-a-dile limits you to the edges of the paper.

HSN has a special for the Big Bite during the month of July...It comes w/ a ton of different color grommets...I'm trying to decide if I want to purchase it...I sb 12x12 pages all the time...

I love my big bite! I love that it can go any where on a 12x12 page. I am a late at night scrapper, so I am glad they make silent setters!
