Custom made stamps

Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you have ever had stamps made custom. I'm thinking of stamping my wedding invitations (text) and them embossing them so I can get the raised white text on black matte cardstock. I'm still in the research stage and I've asked and read alot about the actual inks and various ways to get the desired effect and I think stamping is going to be my best bet. So do you know of any companies (either in L.A. county, CA or online) that make custom stamps that would be what I need? I would prefer one stamp for the whole thing but breaking up the details and the names (see the picture) is fine if that would end up cheaper. Here's an image of the look I want to get...any ideas?

I love the example you showed. I have been a big time office supply junkie for many years. The big office supply stores (office depot, etc) will make custom stamps. I've done this many times through the years. If you type out what you want they will duplicate it exactly. You probably will want more than one stamp for this. Also, look in the yellow pages for a 'rubber stamp' company. This is a really great idea and I hope that you will show up you finished project.

Stamping white on black is gonna be tricky. Most white stamp pads just don't show up well on black. But you are right, it looks very elegant.

I hasd monogram stamps made for my wedding. I think TAC made them.

you can get just about anything you want done in a custom stamp. online places work. just if your sending them art work make sure it's exactly what you want and it's clear..no color.

and if you want a reinking stamp and your not sure about there inks...ask for a dry pad and buy what you want.

there are also industrial inks (not sure on acid free), but its an invitation most people dont keep them and you can make the one for you so that you can scrap it, that print on anything and its a thick ink that shows up clear white/yellow(thats the color i saw on black.

I sometimes emboss with white powder. Depending on how many invitations you are sending, this may be something of interest. It is time consuming, but the look is so wonderful. I just LOVE the texture and feel of embossed powders.

I have 8 bridesmaids, 3 cousins and my mom and his mom to help so time isn't an issue
