Spray glue question

I have never used a spray glue. Here is what I want to do: I want to line the inside cover of an album with fabric. The fabric is cotton the weight that you would buy in squares for quilting. Is this the best thing to do to get it smooth so it looks like it is part of the binding? I am wondering how tacky is stays and if it will come through the fabric? THAT would be bad. Perhaps there is something better to do for those of you that have made altered books. TIA for any suggestions!

I use the Elmers spray adhesive and love it. I think the key is to not spray too much and start at a corner and smooth the wrinkles out before the fabric 'grabs'.

BF used some this weekend to adhere the non-slip rubber shelf liner to the metal shelves in his truck toolbox. That stuff has holes in it, and none came thru and its holding like a champ.

I used the Elmers spray glue to add (red) vinyl fabric to the outside of a chipboard 'purse' album last year - it worked great. I used it to 'line' the chipboard purse (inside) with a metalic gold paper - - NOT so good, it bubbled so fast I couldn't smooth it out~ FYI~

I would use 3M Photo Mount or Spray Mount.

I tried elmers with fabric, it did not bubble, but it also did not hold... I tried it paper too and I could just peel it of the next day

I use a quilt basting spray to recondition my Gazelle mats. It might work?? I don't know. I can look around for a square of fabric and some raw cardstock if you want me to experiment.

I absolutely recommend Tree House Studio spray adhesive. I've used it with multiple fabrics including denim and vinyl and on evrything from the thinnest paper to heavy cardboard and chip board. Works great and is highly repositionable in the first couple of minutes, even on paper without tearing it and it doesnt come thru the other side of fabric, unless of course you use a sheer. But I actually used it to adhere a sheer ribbon on a layout and while the "top side" was tacky, when it dried there was no tack and no residue apparent. Costs about $6 for an 11oz spray can. I purchase mine at Hobby Lobby.
