Printing off sized pictures

How does one print an off sized picture.

I want to print a picture 4.5x3. I thought I could go to the scanner at Walgreens but they only print in the standard sizes. Any thoughts?

you can do it in photoshop so that it's a 4x6 paper but your image is surround by white and is the 3x4.5 that you want. basically you resize your image in photoshop and plop on a 4x6 canvas.
If i had the file, i could do it for you easily...

My printer does not seem to print photo's well

If you can find a place that has a color copier, you can pretty much resize to any size you want - you'll have to do some math and maybe some trial and error to figure out the percentage to use to get the size you want. You may not be able to get to the exact size you're looking for because you'll need to keep the picture in scale, but you should be able to get fairly close.

So, a blank doc in your photo editing software, set to 4x6, open your photo, resize to desired size, copy and paste onto 4x6 blank doc, merge all, to make it one flat layer.

I often place several photos on one 8.5 x 11 blank doc to get the most of my photo paper (I do print at home, usually)

4 x 5.3 is the standard digital print size. I have all of mine developed in this size using Winkflash and think there are a few other services that use this size too. At home when I print, I use Picasa and print them in the 4 x 5.3 size. To do this, they have to be cropped this size if you don't use the standard digital settings on your camera - you can do this by cropping in Manual and holding down the CTRL button while you select your area. Just print like you would a 4 x6, make sure Shrink to Fit is selected,print, and then cut off the excess white (those are the Picasa directions).

Just wanted to add - at home I print with an Epson Picture Mate Flash.

Picasa is a free download and is great software! just google it.
Printiing at home is so easy with a good printer. Try HP photosmart printers - I bought one at a garage sale for $20.00 and it's great!
I just import my pictures in Print Shop, resize, edit, and even place text over the pics and print. You can print any size you want this way. (just not bigger than 8.5x11)

I print most of my pics at home and have several size options to choose from. If I can't find the EXACT size I want, I go a bit bigger and then trim it down.
I have an Hp Photosmart 7660 printer which does a fantastic job on prints!
