Best paper trimmer/cutter

I'm making my Christmas list, and I think I want a new paper trimmer, but I don't know which one ot ask for.

Currently I have the small fiskars trimmer (I do NOT want another fiskars...I've had nothing but problems with it) and the CM cutting system (the old one) - this one I like but I'd like something more portable than my big mat, different blades (that aren't attached) and straightedge.

Which ones to you have and what do you like/don't like about them? Which are the best for the $$?

Cutterpede hands down for me.

I have the cutterpede and was a little disappointed. I am getting the Tonic trimmer after Christmas I think. I hear it is the best trimmer and always cuts straight.

I use a 5x7 CM paper trimmer and a 12" Fiskars trimmer and have for 10 years...I can't see using anything else, I'm completely happy with the two.

I use a Cutterpede and love it! I had a lot of problems with my Fiskars.

I do not like the cutterpede at all...I can't get it to cut straight if you paid me...I thought maybe Nicole's was defective But...tried it at a crop and couldnt cut straight either.... I haven't tried it yet...but I too have read great things about the tonic trimmer. Want one BAAAAAADDDDD!! But I can wait til I have a scraproom to put it in

I have the big old fiskars that has the rotary blade and i love it. i even used one at the sbstore in tx and it cut just as good as mine. i have the cutterpede and dont truly love it. it is more portable and you can replace the blades easily. oh the hunt for the perfect trimmer.

Girls, try the Dahle:) Its great. Perfect, straight cuts EVERY time!

I only recently got a Dahle, and I do really like it. ALWAYS cuts straight!

I have done fiskers and cutterpede both had issues.
I now have a Carl rotrary Trimmer and LOVE it! You can get them at walmart for 24.99. My Blades have lasted forever!

I have a Carl and am completely satisfied with it. Funny thing is, my hubby bought it to cut out his printed photos long before I ever started scrapbooking. I spent 2 mos. scrapping before I even realized we had the darn thing!
You do have to be careful with your measuring and lining things up, but I imagine that's the way it is with any trimmer, right? But I find the Carl is "user friendly".

Hmmm...I have debated over the Cutterpede, but didn't know how well it worked. I may have to look in the Carl one. I've never heard of the Dahle...where do you find that one?

I have the cutterpede and the fiskars I found the cutterpede easier and I have never had it cut anything but straight for me...I love the deco blades and the perforator blade is AWESOME! I am working on a "coupon book" for my oldest daughter for christmas...LOL I can't say enough about it!

BTW if any of you that don't care for the cutterpede still have yours and want to get rid of it PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pm me. I am looking for a gently used one for my dd I am giving her her own sb supplies for chirstmas...Thanks!!!

I'll have to check some of those out. I have yet to buy a cutter, and need one bad, can't cut a straight line sometimes to save my life.

My opinion: I love the Fiskar's Euro Trimmer. I've used lots and lots of cutters over the years and this is the one for me.

I use the CM 12 x 12 straight edge cutter and love it. Has markings on it to make all differnet size triangles also!
