Pregnancy Scrapbook Ideas

Ok ladies, I really could use your help, please! So this week I just found out I'm expecting... and did a big happy dance... Yay! Now I want to start a pregnancy book... lots of journaling and pictures about the whole experience. What are some ideas for pages I could do? I'm already planning to do one about how I found out (pic of the positive test included), and pages of all about mom, all about dad, how we met. What else should I do? And what info should I include on the all about mom/dad pages?

Congrats! Being a mom is the absolute best thing in the world. You don't know what love is until you have a child...there's nothing like it!

I would include your 1st ultra sound. Picture and journaling about your emotions, who was with you, the look on thier face, etc. Maybe some journaling and date of the first time you felt your baby move. Take a pic of yourself showing the side view at the beginning of each month to track how your belly is growing. Along with those pics you could put how far long you are, approx. size of the baby. Do a page about cravings you have, maybe a pic of the food. Pictures from your baby shower. A page or two of the nursery, before and after. Hope that helps!

In the scrapbook, I think it is interesting to write your child a letter that they could read later on in life.

I have never had a child, but I did a scrapbook for my mom that had a picture of her when she was pregnant with me. The title was, "Earning her M.A.M.A. Degree."

I'm still finishing my album up but I did pictures in the same spot each week. I took one with my belly exposed and one with it covered. In the book, I did it so the covered picture hinged open to show the uncovered. All my page titles for each week are the same. I put in appt reminder cards and weekly development stuff from babycenter.com. On my shower pages, I did a slash pocket for my cards. Should have split it between 2 pages probably- I wrote a letter to Ally and put it in an envelope for her. I also made pockets for test results and stuff like that. This book is REALLY thick!

When I found out we were expecting - I bought a journal and kept it in my purse, updated with how I was feeling - dr appts, when I felt him kick, cravings, you know - just about everything. I kept it with me and took it out when I wanted to write and I used it for alot of my layouts after my son was born.

Congratulations. You are in for the most rewarding, challenging, amazing, stressful, happy, totally in-love time of your life. You will be blown away by the emotions you experience. Enjoy and record them.

I wrote a diary each week to my babies. Each pregnancy. I have 5 of them. One even for the baby we lost. These are precious to go back through because each pregnancy is different.

I would take a monthly or weekly photo in the same spot if possible.

New sensations I've experienced (date and description)
Discomforts I've experienced (date and description)
changes to your body
Changes to your moods
Appointments with Doc/midwives dates and times
Questions for the Doc/widwives
Answers

Make sure you keep a record of what you're daily, weekly, monthly routines are like so your baby has an idea of what your life was like before them. They'll ask you in a few years.

So far I'm thinking of a page with the positive test(s), the ultrasound pic (which we'll hopefully have next week), belly pictures, and lots of journaling. I keep a notebook in my purse to record things like appointments, cravings, etc. Now just to find the time to actually start the scrapbook!

-Pic of me and my friend (we gave birth the same day)

-Preparing the nursery
-Journalling about our wishes for baby

-My labour and birth story with pictures
-Last page of me, my husband and new baby with his name, weight andd date of birth.
