Cricut vinyl

Does everyone tend to use the Cricut brand vinyl or do you purchase it from another website? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I have used three different brands of vinyl, Cricut (adeshive and iron on), Silhouette, and car vinyl that I purchased at my LSS that is shiny and a tad bit heavier than the other two brands. All of them work well. I would not recommend putting iron on vinyl on anything that you have to wash often!!!
Car vinyl is my favorite but I have it in only two colors and it does not really matter for most projects.

I purchased other brands. I purchased a pack of 24 12x12 ($20+), or you could get 24 6x12 ($10). I used CrafEvinyl. They had permanent and removable. Another brand is oracal vinyl.

I buy all my vinyl from expressions vinyl online. They have iron on, glow in the dark, glitter, removeable, permanent, TONS of colors. Never had a problem with their vinyl. The cricut vinyl sucks.

Tiffany, have you used their iron on vinyl on shirts?? How does it stand up to washing?? Yes, I would have to say Cricut vinyl is my lest favorite but it (regular vinyl) does stick well to plastic and metal.

Hi Sharon! Just seeing this! Yes, I use EV HTV. It's great! The glitter seems to stay on much better than the nonglitter. I have several sweatshirts and tee shirts I've used their HTV on that go thru the washer and dryer almost weekly! No issues other than my one sweatshirt that I suspect I did not iron hard enough or long enough. A press would eliminate that problem tho.

There are many great vinyl resellers online! You are good with EV (as above), but watch for sellers with good online feedback. I'm sure I am not the only person who has purchased "a bargain" and ended up with horrible quality vinyl that was hard to work with. Ended up wasting so much of it!

I purchase Oracal from USCutter. I'm told this is the same as the cricut vinyl.

Thank you for the information Tiffany. I checked them out, Expressions Vinyl, and will try that sight when I am ready to try HTV again.
Cricut vinyl, It was a great effort with nice results but did not hold up to washing. Now I have several tubes Cricut vinyl that I will not take a change using for shirts!! $ wasted there!

You can put HTV on canvases and wood too! Maybe it's not all wasted? Come up with some fun projects to use that stuff up!

Tiffany..... I hadn't thought of trying it on wood, guess I just didn't think it would stick........ I assume you would use heat to do that too!!

I will have to start getting more creative with my decor. I kind of quit hand making things as my grand kids got older. I'll see what I can do for a design on DGK's fabric covered albums!!!

You can put HTV on anything that can get heated. I just ordered a bunch of gold glitter HTV to make grandparent signs with the grand kids names and birthdates. I'll let ya know how they turn out.

Hobby lobby has some vinyl that I think is the Paper Studio brand. I haven't used it too much, but it seems to stick pretty well.
