Ideas for wedding gift envelope holder?

I am trying to come up with something to use as a recepticle for gift envelopes at a wedding reception. Any ideas? I would like to alter something, but have never done that, either!! Thanks!

I got 3 circle paper mache (sp?) boxes, going from large to small. Take off the lids of the boxes - except for the largest circle,and stack and glue them like a cake! I painted them white and stenciled it then so it looked like a wedding cake. Cut a hole in the top big enough for and envelope and you have a card holder!

That's a great idea for a card holder... we all know it's nice to have them enclosed or some may disappear. We had a bird cage that had flowers and ribbon all over it. It was easy for the guests to put their cards in, but hard for some sneaky theif to take them out:)

I had mine in a nicely decorated basket. But if you are worried about them disappearing I have seen people who wrap and decorate a big box with a slot eith on the top or the side. With all the scrapbook embellies out there it would be simple to create a really cute one.

You can also do a photoframe card box.

you basically take 4 frames of the same size--8x10 work great. attach them using hinges/connectors on the inside. attach a bottom to the frames and attach that to a lazy susan so that it spins. the top you can use poster board and cover it with vatting and fabric--don't forget to put a slit on the top for the cards to go in.

When my parents lived in Africa they bought a decretive bird cage when I was born. It's intent back then was to use it at my wedding for cards.

I didn't find this out till the wedding shower- and it was part of my wedding gift. Considering I was born in Africa but I don't remember it so much- it was a very cool personal touch that everyone loved to hear the story behind.

I used a mailbox. I cut a slit on the top for enveopes to fit through the front where you would normally get your mail from was tied up with a bow. I painted the outside to match the wedding colors and had our last name lettered on the side. I had it sitting on the table with flowers all around. The flag was also put up to say "we had mail"

I used a mailbox too, but my uncle made a wooden one that looked like a bird house on a stand. We removed one of the slats on the roof to make the slot for envelopes. My aunt then did it up with tulle and ribbons. It was gorgeous. I wonder if I can find a picture.
