Pet Memorial Album Ideas Needed!!

My very wonderful boss has recently had to put her 12 year old Dalmation/child to sleep due to illness. I REALLY want to put a scrapbook together for her and I've been able to find some dog things here and there that I've picked up but, does anyone know of any sites that have a lot of dog embellies or paper to choose from? I regrettably have not yet had time to look here on scrapbook.com but I will try to do that over the weekend. Does anyone have any other ideas? Page titles, things to include/exclude, books to check out for LO ideas, something you may have done that could get me steered in the right direction? Any and all suggestions are welcome!

I don't have any information for doggy products, I've personally be searching for cat items and its hard to find things I like.

My cat, whom I've had since a little girl, recently passed on. I'm working on making a memorial album (to be left on our coffee table) for her. The album is going to be 8x8. What I've decided is to find all the pictures I can of her and create two page spreads. One side will be pictures and the other will be a memory from the family about her. I'm going to try and make the pictures match the stories, but its really not totally necessary for it.

So I guess, my suggestion would be to as your boss and her family to share some memories with you. Maybe they could type them up and you could include them in the album? Good luck.

you can try the oriental trading website - they have lots of pet scrapping stuff. i've also found pet things at walmart. Flair designs has a fun pet line that i've used before. hth - and so sorry to hear of your boss's dog.

Wal-Mart has great pet supplies, as does Oriental Trading (like the above poster mentioned). If you poke around online, OT is almost always running 15-20% off and free shipping. You can find a code fairly easily. Here is a site that has a nice poem/story about pets who are no longer with us:

What a thoughtful and kind thing you are doing for your boss. I'm sure she will really appreciate that you took the time to do that for her.

Check out the quote & poem sections in the library here on SB.com. There are also quite a few pet items on here. I did a bunch of layouts in with black and white pics in black white and red. That might be kinda cool since the doggie was a dalmation.

There is a fabulous collection by Karen Foster and another by MM... I believe that you can purchase both at M's. The Karen Foster items even come in a page set with stickers. I have used these a number of times to make dog books. Today at J's they had a fab new collection of dog titles by Jolee's - very cute. I also have a number of different dog layouts in my gallery.

I know, it's hard to find different dog scrapbooking stuff. I just grab the new stuff as I see it. I have come across this website but I personally have not ordered anything from them.

Oh, don't forget that all your pages don't necessarily have to have all dog related stuff or themes . I'm so sorry too to hear about your bosses dog, it's always hard to loss a pet. .

There are some nice poems at DMarie.com that you could use. I would keep the embellishments limited and focus on the pet. Sorry she lost something so dear to her.

I'm currently working on a memorial album for my dog. Not every page has dog stuff on it...in fact, I find I'm not really using as much as I thought I might. I did that last page first and used the "Rainbow Bridge" poem for my last page. It's a really nice sentiment (I still can't read through the whole thing without crying).

I have a page with favorite toys, favorite games, favorite foods, etc. I have a page with all the commands my dog knew, etc. I'm trying to write as many everyday things down with stories of all the ways our dog made our lives so much fun, for the too short time she was with us. I'm trying to get my kids to write down their favorite things they did with the dog too, but it is really hard for them. But I think they will appreciate it down the road.

I did this 6X6 when I lost my Copper in Dec. it is a pre-made Hallmark album with everything already on the LO...all I did was add photos some matts and a bit of journaling...I think I will do more journaling....here is a link to my Gallery

Ande your link took me to my gallery with my 8x8 album that I made to donate to French Bulldog Rescue Network. It's a the same Quick Quotes Memory album that Chococat used for a cancer donation get together (I think?) but I added dog related die cuts and a few words too. The Quick Quotes album is a really nice memory book, it's at the Shop Quick Quotes website.

I've had problems finding any kind of memorial related scrapbooking items. Someone should make some!

I lost my cat Sally to illness last week, I had already started an album for her, so now I am going to include a memorial to be the last page. I her book I used MM pet and Karen Foster . We all know that our pets are like little people so use whatever feels right, it doesnt have to be just dogs or cats.

If this url doesn't work just click on "Ande's Gallery" under my Avatar...her album is on the first page of the gallery with a couple pages on the second page....the Matted framed photo after the album is one I had the letters of her name cut out and put photos behind it...I love how that turned out.

Personally I would create the book to celebrate their life together and include a place in the back for her to place condolence cards, write a letter to furry child, etc. and maybe put the rainbow bridge poem in the very back of the book. I would treat it as a book to honor the importance of her furry baby (maybe include areas where she can add stories of bringing him home, his favorite things...) and not feature the passing of her dear one. You are a wonderful friend to take on the project - I am certain that it will be a treasured gift.

One question though... what is the "Rainbow Bridge" poem? Can someone post it here? I don't know what it is by this name although I might know it to read it. Since several of you mentioned it I'd like to see if it's something that I can include.

I have gone to JoAnn's and Walmart and found a few dog-related items. I still want to check out Michael's and my local stores for a few more things. I also had a chance to shop scrapbook.com over the weekend and put in a $50 order that should be here by the end of the week. Maybe I can get started on the book this weekend.

I'm planning to just scrap the photos and leave areas for journaling. I'll have Kim tell me what she wants to about each photo and then I'll put it on the pages. I wrote Kim a note the evening that Apache was put to sleep and I'm planning to put it on the inside front cover along with Apache's last collar which I've wrapped around the cover and may/may not embellish (need to check with Kim to make sure it's okay). I don't want it to be too much a "in memorial" rather more of a "I had a great life and here's some of the highlights." I've received photos from Kim and her brother is going to send me some digitally as well so I should have plenty to fill the pink leather Colorbok album.
