Hi everyone, what a lovely forum.
I have tasked myself with putting the box of family photos into albums. I have been searching high and low for the kind of photo album I'd like to use, and it appears that a scrapbook is what I want.
I live in Hawaii, and due to our humid climate those traditional photo sheets where you slide your pics in or lay a piece of plastic over the top of them have absolutely RUINED old photos that were in albums, so I'm wanting to go to "old fashioned way" and use corners or glue to adhere the photos directly to a heavy paper.
Kind of like the album they made in Bruce Almighty, if you've seen it (I couldn't find a video).
I'm getting ready to move and without a job currently, so I'm not able to really get into scrapbooking fully at the moment, but I really want to get our photos organized and protected before we go, so I really just want to stick some photos in a book, maybe use a decorative edge and backing on some that could use it, but that's about it.
I was looking at the Colorbok perfect 12x12s. Without being able to actually see it in person, would you be able to tell me if that's kind of what I'm describing above? Could you steer me in the right direction or something more suitable?
And do you have any preference to glue or to adhesive dots/tape?
Could I double side the pages with photos, or should I stick with single sided pages for protection?
I'm hoping once we get moved and settled I'll be able to get more than just my feet wet with scrapbooking, it's such a beautiful way to preserve and share memories.
