Puffy Paint

I know there's a thread about "puffy paint" but I can't find it. I have several questions: 1. Is it the same as dimensional paint? fabric paint?, etc.; 2. If you just want to make a dot with it, how do you get it to dry without the dot sinking? distorting?

Puffy Paint is a dimensional fabric paint (I use Tulip) that when heat set, puffs up.
For example, I used it on the cupcakes on this card.

IMO, it's not the best paint to use if you're just making dots. The Pearl paint works better for that, but Stickles work even better - they don't distort or sink at all.

I think the best fabric paint would be Plaid Folk Art brand. I use it often for making pearls on my pages. My favorite is pearl white(: Hope this helps!!~Alisa

What in the world am I doing wrong? This is what happens every time. It looks great when I first apply it and then when it dries..this is what happens...why? I really want to use this technique, but it's driving me crazy!!!

Are those fabric flowers or paper? I am not sure actual Puffy Paint works on paper, I only ever used it on fabric.

Fabric paint totally works on paper(: Did you get the Plaid Folk Art brand? Sometimes I have this problem with the darker colors and I've noticed that it works better when the paint is warmed up a little from being in my hand.

Crystal...you know I use puffy paint in making my own bling all the time! I shake up the bottle really really well before I start using it. Sometimes, I think the "ingredients" in the paint settle and a good mix helps them come out better. Also...sometimes, a double dot may help...do your first one, then when it dries, if it sinks in, just put another dot in the sunken in part.

what dind are you using? With the Tulip kind, I need to heat set it for it to puff like it did on the cupcakes, not just let it dry. Also, it looks like you put it on pretty thin, I need to put mine on a lot thicker.
