Bio: I've been scrapbooking for about 13 years. Got started when I went to a DOTS party and then got really addicted when they came out with their CTMH line. At that time we had no other sources for sb supplies in our town. HL did finally come to town but they brought us no classes or crops.
About 9 years ago, after visiting some sb stores while vacationing in CA, I decided to look into opening my own store. I wrote a business plan, did market research, visited other lss in the state (met their wonderful owners), worked with the SBA, thought up a name, and bounced ideas off my only scrappin' friend. I was ready to start looking for a location, but something just didn't quite feel right. I told my husband that the store would not bring us any real income for some time and that didn't sit real well with him. I started feeling even more like something was just not right with my life and decided to start looking for a full time job (I had just ended my time as a SAHM/home day care provider). Then I got a phone call from "the other woman". Needless to say I am no longer married to the man who had been my husband for 18 years. And less than a year later (about the same time I would have opened mine) a group of ladies opened a wonderful little store. Like many lss their store struggles and there would have been no way this town could have supported two stores at that time. God does work in our lives, even when we can't see it.
So now I scrap when I can and have given up buying cosmetics and frequent visits to the hairstylist to leave money for sb supplies (but still feel guilty after most sb purchases). But just love how my 15 yo daughter lovingly shows her friends the scrapbooks I have made about her. I've yet to finish her baby album because it is still hard, even after 7 years, to scrap pictures with her father in them; I can't do like some have suggested and have him taken out of the pictures because he is her daddy and that is her life. My goal is to get to a place where I can finish her baby album in time to give to her and myself as a graduation present.
Thank you for reading about me.
