Two Towers
Submitted by: Anjum
Author: Anjum Malone

September 11, 2001

Two towers tall and gleaming
Standing in the sun
To Americans a symbol
Of strength, a promise begun.

Then darkness comes
And evil intrudes
On our nations joy and pride
Two towers crumble and topple
Amidst our anguished cries.

But men and women rise mightily
Toil hours in endless vain,
To find their brothers and sisters
Still buried in the rain.

And we as a country salute you,
United and strong we stand
We pray to God to protect you
And bless our cherished land.

We honor you as Americans
We thank God for your selfless love
The angels in heaven are watching;
Protecting you from up above.

For two towers are no longer gleaming
Or standing in the sun.
But we as a nation are standing
Together and stronger as one!
