SHCG: This is awesome. Love the van, bear, trees, journaling...and is that the Northern Lights? This is going to be an amazing book to look at in it's final form.
wow- so glad I discovered your gallery. I'm hooked on your art now! Just a little tip though, turn off your flash when you photograph your pages. Place the page on the floor in natural light and photograph it from directly above for the best results.
SHCG - Your outstanding artistry in this book continues. Nice how you continue w/ the same trees/leaves from the other page. Terrific how you created a whole scene w/ the van, your friends, the trees, mountains & bear. Great journaling & placement. Is it a "thing" that your pic isn't in this book? After reading your journaling here, I'd love to see a pic of Brian in the van, like maybe at one of the side windows. But I don't remember seeing a photo of you in this book so far so if that's something you want consistently, then I guess stick to them. Just thought it'd be awesome to see YOU here, especially since you talk about learning what it means to be you! :)
SHCG: I love everyting about this page! More of the fabulous trees with the round leaves, the addition of the paint chip trees. I just feel like I am in that amazing van riding with you :) Great ,great page!
SHCG: Brilliant. I love those things poking out from behind the trees and the mountain and van look amazing. This must have taken ages to complete but the result is well worth it.
SHCG: Brian, I absolutely love this page. I like the techniques you used in creating the road and with cute pp. I love your sentiment. Your handmade van is adorable, and I love the NWern tribal bear! Your aurora is beautiful and the paint strips for trees are a great idea. I can't believe I'm even making a suggestion, but if you have any more of those paint strips I'd like to see them layered to add more dimension to those trees. I like that you used a textured cs for the bg and you have a consistent style and elements in the tree, dragonfly, and leaves throughout your album. Lovin' the journey you're taking us on.
This page depicts my move to Alaska, which was partly sparked by the deaths on the facing page. The two in the van are my friends Lori & Justin who moved up with me. Lori left after 2 months, Justin left after 7. I chalked this pretty heavily, but it shows only subtly in any pic I take with a flash. There is a brighter green & purple glow around the aurora. I tinted the letters of the journalling in the same green, which makes them appear to be reflecting some of the lights. Looks fine in the photo, but just not quite as nice it really does.
