SHCG: Love how you used the same concept as the previous page, but muted the colors some. It really takes you from the cold and exciting outdoors to the comfort indoors. Fabulous!
SHCG: Yet another page with great photo and text placement. I also love the warm cozies that the pictures convey. I'd like to see the title in gray, the black is so stark, with the word Eve added on to fill the space to the right of the title. I also think the left side of the red strip behind Sneak Peek would look good snipped at an angle, so it looks more like a streak. Then, I'd color in the words yellow, but keep the black outline. For some reason, these suggestions make me think that it would seem more exclusive.
SHCG: I love the continued magazine-style page. That sneek peek in the bottom right corner is a great addition. Love the inked edges of the photos, and the bold, popping title. The snowflake is also a great idea, and nice addition to the pages.
SHCG: Sharon, this rocks! (Let me first admit that this comment is similar to the other pages in this series. However, it is no less sincere!) I love the layout and composition that you used to create a gossip magazine-type feel. Your journaling is always sublime and I never cease to relish reading it. My only suggestion is to add some red (this time) near the top, only because my eye wants it. Don't blame me, blame my "red craving" eye, okies? I love this and think it is fabulous and full of Sharon-style!
SHCG: GREAT multiphoto layout. LUV the table shot. yum yum
I kind-of want to see a 2005 in the upper right corner. Maybe just red numbers would look good.
SHCG: I love how many photos you are getting on one page. Your journaling is always simply fantastic. I love this page and just think you should dress it up with a few more snowflakes.
SHCG: This page is great the way it is! I think the only thing I'll do is to put one more snowflake in the bottom right corner, right next to the journaling strip.
Part of a 4 pg LO responding to several different Scrap Happenzz Critique Group Challenges. The Challenges are Fiery Redhead's Making Headlines to do a newspaper/tabloid inspired LO, Nitzza's Ad Inspiration (I liked the narrow columns of text next to the images in the IKEA ad she had posted), Nitzza's Out of the Scrap Room to use non-scrapbooking supplies (the snowflakes are made of felt furniture foot pads), & twinscrapbee's Second Chance to do a past challenge.
This is about a trip to Vermont for New Year's weekend '04 into '05; DH, our friend & I had a fun & mellow time snowboarding/skiing & just relaxing. Note, my “Toe-Side Triumph” LO is from this trip. http://scrapbook.com/galleries/41507/view/908855/-1/60/1.html
The scans came out weird because of the added dimension of the felt pads. I blurred out our friend Mike as he's a private guy.
Journaling: “A MELLOW NEW YEAR'S - Earlier in their lives, Sharon, Greg and Mike were quite rowdy on the social scene. For the last few years, however, they have gotten contentedly calmer in their celebrations. Ringing in 2005 was no exception. On New Year's Eve Day, the trio was taken by vintage puzzle game ‘It's Knot Easy,' which Sharon allegedly seemed to come close to solving. Then the evening took a tasty turn with a hearty spaghetti and spinach meal by Mike (‘I'm HUNGRY!' exclaimed Greg), followed by a backgammon lesson by Greg to Sharon (who would later forget the rules like she had done with previous times she's attempted to learn the game).
The night was capped by a viewing of the movie ‘The Name of The Rose' (a favorite of Sharon's; Mike had read the book). Shortly after ringing in the New Year at midnight, Greg quipped ‘Who's ready for sleep?!' The trio turned in soon after that. Sharon confided, ‘I'm having a wonderful time, and I am really liking how Mike and I are getting to be better friends. And of course, I always love hanging out with my one true love, Greg. Happy Friggin New Year!'
By New Year's Day night, the Usual Suspects were fatigued from snow sports and ‘frightfully sore,' described Sharon. Added Greg, ‘Oh God, I can't move.' Jacuzzi time, movie ‘Dances With Wolves,' popcorn and general relaxation followed. Eventually they ordered Lookout Tavern's ‘Black & Tan' soups (black bean & corn chowder, ‘delicious!' gushed Sharon), supplemented by Mike's rice & beans with veggies and watched a skateboarding video. The group stayed in during the blizzard on Jan. 2nd.” ( The tabloid-y rectangle says “Sneak Peek:”)
Thanks to SHCG for coming up w/ great challenges! TFL :)
