Hi There! Pockets transform pattern paper like sheet music from simply decorative to useful writing space. Here are two simple pocket styles that can be added to any junk journal.
1. Horizontal Pocket
This horizontal pocket is simply a rectangle of scrapbook paper glued on 3 sides to the sheet music page. Its big enough to hold three large tags, but doesnt add much bulk. I dressed up the pocket with a sticker from the collection, a bit of book page and some lace.
2. Vertical Pocket
Another basic pocket style is a vertical pocket. Made in the same way as the horizontal pocket, but rotated 90 degrees. I like to have the opening of the pocket face the spine, because that will prevent tags from slipping out. This pocket is trimmed with a border sticker from the collection and some wide lace. Super simple, but totally elegant.
The tags in the pockets are a combination of 4x6 cards cut from the collection, handmade tags using scrapbook paper, and fussy cut images. The variety of size and shape adds so much to my journal.
There are lots of pocket styles, but I often use these basic ones in my journals because they are so versatile.
